Mata Hari World War I then Virginia Hall World War II. Information on spys is hard to obtain for obvious reasons, so these are just educated guesses. Have a great 4th!

Spies go back into pre-history, but figure there were women spies as far back as there were spies. Maybe in Egypt or Sumeria, you'd find the first recorded instances of spies..

Mata Hari was a spy in World War I; she's rather a latecomer on the scene.

I believe her name Mata Hari - I only know the name, I know nothing else about her. She might not have been the first female spy, but certainly the most well-known.
