I think they say "God giveth and God taketh away" so I guess Adam didn't have a choice, God jacked him in his sleep.

The Bible says that God put Adam to sleep so he didn't "say" anything and why do you end every question with "Jesus wept"?

John 11:35 "Jesus wept" - this took place outside the tomb of Lazarus - He was weeping because of His followers' lack of faith - even Mary (who sat at Jesus' feet when He visited Bethany) was upset that He didn't drop everything to come and save Lazarus - didn't she know that He could save Lazarus whenever He wanted to? Which He did, by-the-way, He called Lazarus from the tomb.
