My husband died four years ago and I have received clear signs that he is still around me. I'm not crazy in the slightest. I had no concrete reason to believe in the afterlife before, but I believe in it now. Do not disregard the possibility just because you haven't experienced it. Being open to all things is an advantage.

You asked what makes me believe that there is an afterlife. I believe there's more to us than just what you can see, feel & taste. There's more to us than our senses can explain. We don't consist of just a material body, but also have something else, many called it a soul.

Jesus brought some people back to life demonstrating that after the soul leaves the body & a person is pronounced dead, they can be brought back by joining the soul to the body. Jesus stood on a mountain & began chatting with Moses & Elijah, who had already been buried years before, revealing not only His Divinity but this mystery to Peter, James & John... there's life after death.
Jesus died & came back to life, talked, ate & was able to use His body again. Then He ascended into heaven.

These awesome events help me to believe in life after death.

The afterlife is very real as Heaven and Hell are very real places. Heaven will be more wonderful than anything experienced on earth, and Hell worse than the most awful thing experienced on earth.

Some people have been given real visions of heaven and/or hell or experienced one of them in near death experiences. These four videos show examples. The last link is a test you can do to see where you are currently headed.

I don't know; perhaps it is just difficult for most people to accept that death is a part of life, and life ends at death.
Personally, I think that belief in an afterlife represents a morbid, unhealthy obsession with death.

Your idea is interesting.
I've read that your kind of idea is similar to the atheistic existentialists which prescribe that man showed up on the earth first, then, determined that god exists from himself. Its an interesting concept that many archeologists, doctors, geneticists, scientists and others believe in.
Many say that our only method for immortality is to leave children with our distinctive DNA (I kinda find hope in that).

After you die everything that is collected by your brain through your senses is replayed. The white light that you hear about is
you being re-born and you re-live every moment all over again.
You won't be able to change anything except maybe when you reach death again you might be able to change one decision and
re-live again with the change.

If you are just crap, why ask the question? I will be in heaven because I am a child of God and He don't make no crap. You would do yourself a favor to accept Christ, so you can go to heaven too!

Because people can not accept mortality...either for themselves or their loved ones.

They just can't believe there is nothing else...you live, you die, that's it.

So, they make up nice little fairly tales to make it all seem okay...
