It's just simple maths! Once you've got your symbol, quickly think of another number, do the same thing you had to do to get the final number in the first place, look for that number and the symbol will be the same as it was for the first number. eg- if you think of 76, then your number's 63. Check the symbol, then do it for another random number, eg 18 so it'll be 9. The symbol for 9 will be the same for 63.
Freaked me out the first time I saw it too, till I worked it out!

When you take a 2 digit number and add the 2 numbers together and subtract it from its self it will always be either 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, or 81....all they do is keep changing the symbols for those numbers to make it seem like they are using magic!

Everyone who said that the same symbol is used for each possible answer is wrong... I've done it several times and got a different symbol and it was still shown. I don't know how they do it, and I don't want to know. The unknown is way more fun then figuring out the mathmatics of it. Maybe there's a little person on the other side, watching you....that must be it.

If you will look at all of the signs, all of the numbers that are multiples of 9, (9, 18, 27, 36....) they all have the same sign because whenever you add then subtract in that order from whatever number, you will get a multiple of 9!

no matter what number u choose, when u do th eadding adn subtractions it will always be a multiple of 9. The symbol it self changes everytime u do the game, however, no matter what ur answer will be, the same symbol will b for every number that is a multiple of 9 (first time may be the symbol for leo, next time...virgo and so on)...cool game tho

I'm a scientist, (I'm actually a MD) and I did it 10 times at least also. My husband did it, and tried to solve it mathmatically too, AND WE'RE BOTH STUMPED! We tried to not look, we tried logical and illogical ways to best this game, We tried multiples of 9, the squares of numbers, the odds on statistical plots of any 2 numbers and chances of the same design occuring; I got out my book on calculus.
OHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! It brings up my fierce competivness to get the right answer.........I guess I'm going to get off line and out of "Yahoo Questions Land" and ponder why I didn't solve this game! (But it sure is fun!)

the use the same symbols for a predetermined answser. no matter what your answer will be... certain numbers are the ones they have perset to come out by the equation. And each of those numbers will have the same sybol each time.

That is freaky man. Tried it a couple of times. I wonder how it's done. The second time it took a little longer for the image to come but it did and was correct.

more than one number has the same image, basically it is a mths formula that if you pick a number and minus addition of two numbers only certain numbers can come out
