Chamomile tea works very well, and is safe for them.
Dump it out of the teabag, and use 1 teaspoon for small breed, up to 1 tablespoon for a large breed. Mix it in a little canned food, such as Mighty Dog, or Cesar's, and give about 30 minutes before they need to relax. It will keep them happy, but reduce stress. It can be given as needed.
If your grocer doesn't carry chamomlile, you can use 'SleepyTime Tea' as it is the same, but with added herbs. Plain chamomile tastes better to a dog.

Just make sure they know they are safe. Keep them in one room, instead of having full run of the house. Have someone they know, in the room with them for comfort. Try to play with them or somehow distract them from the noises.
Maybe turn a radio on, to slightly tune out the fireworks.

If they have been seen by the vet recently, your vet should be able to prescribe valium for them (if they are open today- next year get it a couple days in advance).
Otherwise, I suggest putting them in a room where they are comfortable (like the bedroom) and turning on the radio (not too loud) just for a calming effect. If they are outside dogs, put them in the garage or babygate them in one area of the house (like the kitchen).
Don't coddle or baby them- that just reinforces the behavior.
Good luck!

They addressed this question on the local news channel this week. Have the TV on and turn it up or have some music playing where they want hear it. However, I don't think this will work since they will still hear the booms going off. Try to keep them busy and pre-occupied with something else like their favorite chew toy or one of those rawhide chews.

keep then inside, provide a sanctuary place for them(bed crate etc) if ur afrais of them running away keep them on a leash. Dont make a big deal about the fireworks. go about ur house like everyday life. if they run to you for comfort-ignore them. u dont want them to think there is something bad and that they actually need the comfort. try to distract them w/ toys or making them do commands. good luck!
you can also try putting on soothing music

Keep them indoors, stay with them. Play music or the TV. Play games with them, give them treats. Give them a stuffed Kong. Plug in a DAP diffuser, spray some Rescue Remedy, put on an Anxiety Wrap.

Please just keep them penned up and away from the fireworks. When I was little my dog ran away while we were setting off fireworks, and we never saw her again.

Going through this today with cats myself. Closing them in my bedroom seems to be helping. The air is on in there so I don't think the fire crackers are as loud.
