You pay at least $100/night, and then on top of that...$30 for parking...what is up with that?

No, that is not the point! The point is, you shouldn't have to pay for parking at all if you are using their hotel! Don't be so quick to give dumb replies!

I absolutely am. I'm dishing out $100+ per night to these hotels (for the room only - breakfast not included) and in addition to these prices, they want additional money for usage of their parking services. It's not vallet parking services all the time either. The cost of hotel rooms is insane as is. Charging their guests extra to use something we really need discourages some (me) from booking at their hotel.

I'd be more annoyed if they had hidden the extra $30 it costs to provide your parking spot in my hotel bill !

really - who should pay for your car park? the people who came by boat or bus or plane?? that's not very fair.

EDIT:

"dumb reply"?? think about it - Toronto has some of the most expensive real estate in the country, av. downtown office space rents for $20+ / sq foot, city metres and lots are $1- $3/ hour, Hotels pay huge amounts of property tax, partially calculated on amount of parking stalls, they have to maintain them and of course purchase or lease the land - it COSTS THEM MONEY..... so for them to provide YOU with free parking means they have to pass those costs on to consumers, ie in the form of higher rates.... so how is it fair that if I arrive by plane, take a cab in from Pearson that I have to pay higher room rates to subsidize your car?
