President Bush says he is a Christian. As far as I know, telling people what you believe has nothing to do with running a government. Separation of church and state means that the government can sponsor no religion, and can force none of its citizens to participate in religion. But it also means freedom of religion - we and our elected officials are free to believe anything we want. I'm not sure how the president is trying to tie the war to his beliefs - as a Christian I know the Bible makes it clear that we should love our enemies, and that those of us with wealth & power should spend more time and energy helping those in need, as opposed to trying to blow them up.

First of all president Bush does not use my faith. Faith is something that is individual and do not mix faith with religion. According to the bible it is very difficult for a politician to respect, follow and live within the sacred principles. The same principle applies to anyone in authority like a CEO of a company. His dealings involve the cares of the world(money). These types of individuals may not follow the principles of the bible but their faith in God may be strong. We can keep religion out of government because religion is man made but we need the presence of God over us to guide us as a nation.

I don't like Bush...But I also would hate to have a President that does not pray. I am not saying that Bush is this perfect Christian, but at least he knows God and is not so high and mighty that he thinks he is beyond God. The one thing any leader needs is Faith.

Tomas Jefferson, when he was president, personally made sure that ever child in the public school system of Washington D.C. had their very own Bibles, paid for at GOVERNMENT expense. Separation of church and state is not keeping religion out of government, but keeping and religion from RULING the government, like the Catholics did for 1260 years in Europe.
