Well, the bonus if you sign right now with the Army is 20,000 dollars. that is a lot of money to a lot of 18 yr old kids coming right out of high school.. second there are a lot of people who want to contribute something good to this world and want to defend our country.. if everyone thought like you then there would be no one to defend your sorry butt.. and yes, I know you didn't ask to be defended and you dont' believe that there is anything to be defended from.. Yadda Yadda.. but if you won't do it then who will.. and thank God for those people

My husband is a Senior Army Officer. He expects his men to behave in a manner which is acceptable to other peoples. he believes that Soldiers should be the best. Civilised, thoughtful and compassionate. He has served two Tours of Iraq and his soldiers were under instruction to behave in a way which was acceptable to the local population. I have no doubt that if some idiot leered at an Iraqi woman that he would have been brought in front of my husband to be reminded of this instruction. Conflict does not give Soldiers the right to treat civilians improperly and if you had ever been anywhere near a serving Soldier you would know how they are expected to conduct themselves on Operational Tours and indeed at home and that they uphold that...or face discipline.

The answer is the same as when people ask why would you want to join the military and risk dying. Simply, there are things that are more important than me. There are things worth fighting for, worth dying for and, yes, worth being unfairly dragged through the mud by the media and unjustly court-martialed for.

Well, you've picked an extremely rare (thank goodness) event to focus on. I would think the soldiers and Marines getting blown up every week would provide a better argument against serving. And having to kill people without knowing for sure if they are enemies. Those seem like much bigger reasons.

To do our part thats why I joined the military. Does anyone respect our soldiers in Iraq? This is America someone has to fight for your freedom. I think more people need to join. You should think about everyone in the military ,in the past and present that have died for you to be able to sit here and be so cold hearted. Soldiers are sitting in Iraq doing there part for you and all you can do is disrespect them.

To serve this country and to fight for your freedom and peace. I'm going to join the Army. If we don't go to iraq, they will attack us like they did in 9-11. If they just leave iraq, they will think we are p*ssies and they'll attack us again. You should be thankful for the people who join today.

if you can't enter a country to participate in an illegal, greed-driven war without committing rape then you shouldn't, hell even if you can enter without committing rape, torture and massacre on civilians, still stay the f**k out, it's not your country.
