If you were as ex member, why did you leave? Do they still prohibit blood transfusions? I have a JW freind that does not participate in elections....why? Isn't that religion more like Judaism than Christianity? For your information, I'm agnostic, which means that I believe there is a god but I doubt all religions, so do not get offended.

Last year 247,000 people did not find anything wrong with Jehovah's Witness religion.

Last year 2005, 247,631, became Jehovah's Witnesses and everyone of these had to change their minds pertaining to the false teachings that they had been taught, these were people that used their own Bible, King James, etc., 28,384 were from the United States.

“A growing number of hospitals are offering an alternative: 'bloodless' surgery,” reported THE WALL STREET JOURNAL. “Originally developed to accommodate Jehovah's Witnesses,” stated the journal, “the practice has gone mainstream, with many hospitals promoting their bloodless-surgery programs to the general public.” Hospitals around the word are discovering numerous benefits, particularly to patients, when implementing strategies that curtail the use of blood transfusions. Currently, thousands of doctors are treating patients without resorting to transfusions.

"piggie_dude" speaks about the flag, JW's are in 235 lands & islands, we respect the flag of each country unlike most christian religions, Why do you think, the prisons are full of so-called Christians, why is it that so-called Christians are the ones that "burn, spit, step on the "flag" and show disrespect not only to the flag but to the country they live in?
Is it because of people that could care less about
God's rules that are layed out in the Bible?

I can think of a President of the U.S.A. that saluted or said the pledge of allegiance every day, yet He had to leave office because of wrong doing, and the deliberate act of deviating from the truth. So the saluting and pledge is not what makes you a good person, it's obeying God's Word, that does.

"whynotaskdon" why would I want to ask him anything? He cannot even spell "Revelation" correct.

I don't know a lot about the specifics of what JW's believe.

From my understanding their avoidance of political issues (including reverencing the flag, participating in elections, etc)stems from a belief that Jesus has already come and is governing the world from His throne in heaven, rendering all other governments obsolete and invalid.

Their feelings about blood transfusions-- I'm not so sure why they feel those are not appropriate. I think it has something to do with blood being life-giving. Again, I'm not sure on this one.

There are some of their other teachings that I have a hard time understanding, but this isn't the time or place. If you really want to know my questions regarding Jehovah's Witnesses, contact me.

Nothing is wrong with J.W. Yes they are strict about some things, and they seem odd to others, but they believe in something, and they walk the walk. I dont know about the blood transfusion thing, or other things that i've heard. They DO believe in Jesus, even tho they are said not to. They believe the Catholic Church is a false religion, (and so do I ). They do not celibrate Christmas, because its a pagan holiday, (and it really is). Of course, so is halloween.

I am not J.W. expert, but I know a lot about their beliefs and in a biblical standpoint they are correct in a lot of things. That is hard for others to handle, and it shows in the way they are ridiculed by society.

They are not Jews, or even close. Jews believe Jesus was a prophet (like Islam believes). Witnesses believe Jesus is the Son of the Father. The only real difference is, they separate the Father from the Son, and put the Father first. They do not worship the father thru the son, as christians do.

Yes we still do not accept blood transfusions . We stay neutral in government affairs & donot participate in holidays that donot support Jehovah God.Nothing is wrong with us, but some just donot understand. Even before I started studying/attending with the witnesses I refused bloodtransfusions because when I recieved one as an infant I now have a lifetime of low immunity.
Also as reading other posts on here we do not "earn"our way to heaven. No one anywhere can. However after acceptnig Jesus & his fathers word it is a humbling experiance to go out & serve him & help tohers by donig the preaching work. This is what the sisters told me & I see, the "earn"your way in is a false teaching that got spread around by non-witness people trying to scare others, it is not the truth of what we do.
As for us not following the flag, we do respect the nation, but honor Jehovah over a flag. Jehovah deserves our respect.
Jehovah does not salute nor reconize any flags of any countries, he looks at all of his followers as one no matter where you live, although again we do respect the laws of the land.
Reciting the pledge imo is as stupid as saying the rosery in an RCC ,it is meaningless because it draws our attention away from Jehovah & focuses more on the land.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "wrong". But I will answer a few things. Every religion stems from Abraham's one true God. Christianity and JW stem from Judaism. JW believe that Jesus came from an angel. I think the WatchTower's teaching is now based on directly from God (no adam/eve, noah, abraham, moses). When in a hosptial 2yrs ago our suite mates were JW and on their baby crib gurney said NO BLOOD. So I'm guessing that's still going on. I also worked with a JW who told me only so many go to Heaven and she had an uncle that was one of the chosen. Not too sure about that one.

nothing is wrong with Jehovah Witnesses. we have the truth and the truth will set you free. the reason people leave because they did the wrong things. even if I was not a Witness I would never take blood. blood belongs to Jehovah God. they can check the blood all they want and I still would never take it. people don't know anything about us. we are not a cult we are a religion. we do what Jesus told us to do at Matthew 28 verse 19 and 20. if someone gets disfellowshipped. is because the sleep around, smoke or do things that are harmful. we hate what God hates and love what God loves. we are a big world wide family all around the world in 235 lands, we come from different back grounds and we are color blind. no place in the bible does it say the Jesus is God, he always said he was the son of the Most Holy Father Jehovah God. yes he said you seen me you seen the Father, he meant that he knows Jehovah God because he was with him for billions of years. we are not brainwashed or a cult. we laugh and cry just like anyone else. just like in Noah's day, they laughed at him also. Jesus said that they hated him and that his followers would be hated also. we don't worship flags because we only worship Jehovah God. we don't go to war because the world is our family and why would I want to kill a brother or sister, I love everyone. we hear people burning the flags but you will never hear of a Jehovah Witness burning a flag ever. no one will stop us if we don't want to be a witness anymore. Jehovah God wants us to worship him for the right reasons. we don't and can not change you if you don't want to be a witness. that is up to you.

We don't accept blood transfusions because the Bible clearly tells us to "abstain from blood".

2)We recognize that man's government cannot bring us true happiness, only Jehovah's Kingdom, so we do not participate in elections. And as an example remember when they tried to make Jesus king, what did he do? He ran away, he fled, because the only government he was for was his father's.

I would suggest the next time you see a Jehovah's Witness ask them for the tract "Who are Jehovah's Witnesses" you will be greatly informed. And might I add please don't listen to negative comments about us because most of the time people are just going off of what they heard about us when they've never studied with us or taken the time to read any literature so they know nothing about us, it's just their ignorant opinions. Well I hope you get to that tract soon, you'll like it:)

The Jehovah's Witness religion does currently have many imperfect humans as members. However, this religion is clearly the most conscientiously biblical and Christian of all religions practiced on earth today.

Jehovah's Witnesses do still respect the bible's view of blood, and also the bible's view of political and nationalistic neutrality. The Witnesses do look to the ancient nation of Israel when there is little first-century Christian precedent on matter, but they are decidedly a Christian religion.

Sorry I offended you in a previous answer. I was a little harsh. You know we all have rough days at times. One of my questions did sound a little bigoted when I went back and read it so I deleted it. I did not mean to offend anyone.

By the way I really don't know a lot about Jehovah Witnesses. I have know some Jehovah Witnesses and they were kind.

I'm not an ex-JW but I have studied a little about it and, unfortunately, had my fair share of run-ins on my front porch - all I know for sure is that any religion that tells you that you have to earn your way into heaven but then tells you that only 144,000 will get in and that most of them are already dead and in heaven removes all hope. Jesus Christ is hope, joy, peace and love - it must break His heart that there are those that are walking around without hope.
