We have one son together but we're only boyfriend/girlfriend. He gets mad if I give out my phone number. I don't talk to the guy seriously, its friendly and nothing more. Plus, he doesn't talk to me a lot and when I confront him about it he always has an excuse.

I would say yes but after what's happened to me like my boyfriend and my friend I would always talk to the friend then we became more than friends and with love instead of love with my ex boyfriend so no I mean it's your opinion just try not to get to close with your friend like me

I've been married for 6 1/2 yrs to a wonderful man. We trust each other to be faithful. He talks to other women, and I talk to other men. We are always open, up-front about friendships with the opposite sex. My husband is a little more jealous than I am.
In your case, I'd agree that yes, it's fine for you to talk to other men. Your BF sounds a little insecure. Do you re-assure him that you will stay faithful? Have you introduced BF to your casual guy-friend? This may help calm his fears that you're "wandering"....
If this doesn't work, I'd say that BF is a little controling and needs to let go a little more.
If, after you've re-assured him that you plan to stay with him, he's still clingy, and this is just an idea.... tell him to marry you or walk, but don't say that unless you're prepared for WHATEVER he may choose.

I can see why he would get upset when you give out your phone number. What would your immediate thoughts be if he was giving his phone number out to girls? Most of the time girls don't give their number to guys "just to be friends". When you give your number out do you make it clear that you are in a relationship? It's ok to have conversations with men, but it's not ok to give your number to men.

some guys don't care if you are in a relationship they consider you fair game , the thing is what if it was your bf doing this , would you trust him , i say unless your comfortable with your bf doing the same things you are , then don't do it at all

It's ok to be friends, but if you want the relationship to work with your boyfriend...I would keep it on that level.
