that christian ppl knew about Muhammad, but didnt believe in him because he's not what they expected!?
you -christians- yourselves said that jewish ppl did not believe in him although they knew about him but they thought the Messiah was to fight against Rome Empire, so they didnt believe in him. what if you -christian ppl- were told about Muhammad but you didnt believe in him because he did not come from Israel like all prophets did?! i mean, Muhammad did not deny your religion, nor Moses' book. he came with the same things but added more to make a religion that works for all time and place! What do you think?

Well first of all, it is important to note that Mohammed was not "expected" at all. The Christian tradition considers all the age since the crucifixion to be the "last age." There were no prophets to come, and the close of the Bible effectively closes the canon of scripture as well.

As to the question of the Jews, that is more of an item of debate between Jews and Christians, and does not really involve Islam. In the turmoil of the first century, Christianity spoke to those expecting a more cosmological messiah, spiritual deliverance.

Jews expect a more Davidic messiah - not a divine redeemer, but a leader and king bringing an era of worldwide peace, someone more in the image of Cyrus the Great or David.

Most Christians and Jews agree that the debate on that question can be resolved at the dawn of the Messianic age, whichever form it takes, and probably not before. Islam really plays no role in that equation, as Mohammed is really prefigured in neither religion.

As for me, I already have a religion that works for me any time and in any place. I am happy you have yours also, and say to you what Mohammed said, "To me my way, to you yours."

As to claims that the Bible was changed:

1. Christianity is not as "book centered" as Islam is. Christianity depends on Christ, not the Bible (important as it is.) So strange arguments about "book changing" resonate much more with muslims than they really do with christians.

2. There's really no evidence to back that up. Aside from a handful of copying errors, there's little difference between a Masoretic torah scroll of today and a two thousand year old Essene scroll from Qumran - ditto the manuscript witness for the New Testament, which in fact is far more attested to than the Quran's is, truth be told.

Well, what I have been exposed to is that some Jewish people still hold onto the 613 laws they are to follow too that are within the Old Testament. I have no idea how tough it is to follow those laws, but I know I screw up everyday and with 613 laws that is a bit overwhelming! That is why God did it in this way

613 to 10 to 2

those 2 laws/commandments sent to us through Jesus to us wer the following.
Love one another like I have loved you

AND

Follow God with all your heart, mind, body, and soul.

So we all have 2 commandments to follow and they encompass the 613 laws that were first sent to us.

Now, we have to remember there will be 144,000 Jewish people that will be immediately take to heaven and they will come from the 12 tribes of Israel. God is responsible for these people, because He has taken care of them age to age - from beginning to the end. The Jewish People ARE God's people.

To be quite honest with you, I think the coming of the mesiah is symbolism. I think it has more to do with an overall global state of being. I believe as more and more people accept and respect one another, hence the message of Jesus, unconditional and openess toward one another, accept one another for who they truly are and encourage others to feel good about themselves, also to let go of anger, and stop killing people in wars - particularly holy wars (what kind of an oxymoran is that), I believe we will then experience heaven on earth, the mesiah will come in the sense that people will recognize and live as mesiahs (children of and with God).

Jesus and Muhammas are completely different..have you even read the Bible at all their works are completely different. One passage gives a man the riht to beat his wife if she does not listen to him..does that sound like a good man at all? Nowhere in the Bible would God give a man the right to beat his wife no matter the sercumstances. God told man that he is to treat his wife like he treats his own body, we are the weaker vessal.

It is interesting that you can dismiss the Christian book of thought...the Bible...for a newer text and then claim it is for all time...instead of see the validity of the argument you already used. All literature becomes dated.

Muhammad is a false prophet. We should not believe in him at all. Anyone who does not accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior will not have eternal life. They will experience eternal punishment and seperartion from God. Thus, it is not to good to be a jew or a muslim
