This question has been asked many times, so I've formulated my standard answer. Here it is:
Picture quality of plasma is brighter, better color, better blacks than LCD. (There is something about looking directly at glowing phosphors!)
Sharpness is the same for equivalent pixel counts. Some newer LCDs have 1080 x 1920 resolution, most plasmas still in the 720 x 1250 range.
Plasma is heavier and uses more power.
There are reports that plasmas are not as reliable or they don't last as long, but that may not be true with the latest models. Plasma phosphors dim over time; but LCDs use flourescent lamps which also dim and eventually burn out.
Plasmas are subject to burn-in. A stationary image left on the screen for a long time could produce a permanent ghost image. The most risk is when viewing a lot of 4:3 ratio pictures (non-HD), which are displayed with vertical dark areas on the left and right to fill in the wide screen. There are ways to minimize this, however. many sets have a "stretch" mode which widens the picture to fill the whole screen.
Plasmas come in largers sizes, although large LCDs are coming out, but they are expensive.
LCD contrast and brightness can be reduced when viewing from off-center.

Plasmas are one of the best sources for displaying media and graphics such as computers and hd TV the con is that they are pricey and that the screen will bun in meaning if you leave a channel banner or a news ticker up long enough it will burn in.
Lcds are more in expensive and and dint burn in. the con is that you sacrifice some detail but they are getting better
both can be hung, with the exception of rear projection LCD.

well I always thought plasma was the way to go but I have heard way to may things about the screen loosing pixles and the company doing nothing for you cause the space isnt large enough for them to fix, it would have to me a 1cm dot in order for them to care. plus they throw off sooo much heat, it will make your room warm. Sony has stoped production of plasmas for a bit now cause they are trouble. personally I would and wil go with LCD on silicon flat panel. perferably from toshiba or hatachi

Plasma TVs are thin and maybe hung on walls ect.
LCD TVs cannot they are a little bulkier take up a little more space.
Both have good picture quality
Plasma's have had consumer reports that they have problems in higher elevations
