For my 13th B'day party, I want to go indoor rock climbing but I don't know where to find a rock climbing centre. I live in Essex in England so it has to be somewhere near there.

I know it's a real pain all the best places are in Sheffield and Derbyshire where they have fantatic outdoor rocks AND fantatic indoor rocks. Us poor southerners with no hills let alone mountains seem to missout on the indoor stuff as well... ho hum. Anyhow the closest to you (depending on where in Essex you live) I know of is Kelsey Kerridge in Cambridge.

I'm afraid they don't have instructors but if you give them a quick call they might be able to put you in touch with some who'll do a special session for you. You don't really need ropes for the wall as it has crash mats thick enough for most falls, so you could just turn up, but you might like an expert to come and show you some techniques to begin with.

Alternatively have you thought of indoor Ice climbing, it looks fantastic. Here's a link to one in London!
