I want to be the first female Tyler Perry . He states that he is going to do movies now. I want to pick up where he leaves off. Besides I'm a black female its time for a black female to come on scene and blow the men out of the water, or just swim beside them . Any advice is welcomed.

First, buy the Dramatists Sourcebook, it lists theaters across America, what type of plays they produce/stage, you can query them about your play. Two, find some local theaters and ask them if they will do a staged reading of your play. this gives them a chance to see your work on its feet, you to establish a good working relationship from which you can launch a career. Good luck and Congratulations!

Well, try the local organizations first, write to publishing houses, try to ask your local theatre if they would consider putting your play on stage... It worked for me...you could also look for play-write contests on the net, would be helpful if you won money instead of asked for it.

There are quite a few theatre groups looking for scripts representing diversity. You need to get people to read your script before thinking of sponsorship. I suggest you send copies to as many smaller theatre groups as you can.
