John 16:23: " And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you."
Ephesians 5:20: "Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ"
Colossians 3:17: "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him."
1 Timothy 2:5: " For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."
John 15:16: " Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you."
Ephesians 5:20: "Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."
John 14:13 ,14: "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.
Jesus is honored when we pray in his name. And just as children honor their parents by being obedient, we honor Jesus Christ by obeying his commandments, especially the new commandment to love one another.—John 5:23; 13:34.

ok im agnostic and i havent touched the bible for so long. but i think theres this passage which says preach all the nations and baptise them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit. so, if jesus was indeed the son, then those who end their prayers with in jesus' name are not following their bible because they omitted the holy spirit and the father. lol just my humble opinion

The Bible does not say that specifically. However in the New Testament on may occasions people(we) were told that when we ask,ask in Jesus' name. Mainly when we ask God for anything it is a form of prayer. When we ask for a blessing, for healing , for deliverance, we ask in Jesus' name. Jesus intercedes for us to our heavenly Father, so we ask in Jesus' name.

The Bible does not state to close your prayer "in Jesus name"...that closing comes from the fact that it is only through Jesus's name that we can pray to God. It is through belief that Christ's death on the cross payed the punishment for man, separation from God, and that through belief in Christ's work on the Cross man is no longer "separated" from God. Thus, it is through Christ that we reach the Father, for it is through His work alone that we are "un-separated".

The bible never says to close the prayer in Jesus name. However it says many times to ask in His name.
Joh 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Joh 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
Joh 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Joh 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
Joh 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
Joh 16:26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:

I think it is one of those things, that well my grandmother and her mother and probably her mother always ended a prayer saying exactly that.
However I do not recall it saying that in the bible that it was a have to....
What I was always taught, was talk to God, pray, the way you feel comfortable in doing so.He will listen.

you don't necessarily have to end your prayer is Jesus's name,
John 14v13-4: And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
v14 - If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
