Low self esteem & low self confidence. I know it very well because even i was a victim of insecurity.
It's also because of over confidence or over smartness

It's different for everyone, you have to answer that question yourself. Take a good hard look at yourself, the answer is there. Fundamentally, it has to do with the disparity between what you present to people and what you think you really are.
And just for the record, don't let anyone pin that label on you. EVERYONE is insecure, all the time. Some are just too full of themselves to realize it. They are the ones with the least security - they have the most to lose.

low self esteem. once you're confident enough in your own shoes, then you won't feel insecure in most situations. there are, of course, those unforeseen situations where you might feel insecure because the situation is new. insecurity is just your body telling you something doesn't feel right.
