If Christians feel that Muslim women are opressed by choosing to wear the veil, how come nunns are veiled?

all_about _the_baby: I totally agree with you... I salute you

And StJames: Please don't offend others' just because you do not agree with their faiths. I'm not Christian, yet i don't have the right to insult other believers or agnostics. Respect people and get the same in return.

i know what u mean if a Muslim woman wears a veil she is oppressed but if a nun wears one then she is devoting her self to god i don't get how people can do that its the same with beards if a Muslim man wears a beard he is a terrorist be if a Jewish man wears one he is just acting out his faith!

i wish people would realize that Muslims are just being faithful and we don't need people to tell us how we feel

Nuns aren't ....anymore, but its still a valid point.
A veil, wherever used, is meant to show humility and modesty.
Its a shame that for many veil users, its just a show, nothing genuine.
Ah! There's the rub.
