The Gospel of Mary Magdalene wasn't included because it wasn't canonical.
From wikipedia, regarding non-canonical texts:
In addition to the four canonical gospels there have been other gospels that were not accepted into the canon. Generally these were not accepted due to doubt over the authorship, the time frame between the original writing and the events described, or content that was at odds with the prevailing orthodoxy. If a gospel claimed to be written by for example, James, but was clearly authored beyond 120, then there was little chance of the authorship being authentic. This differs from the four canonical gospels which the majority of historians agree were authored before 100. For this reason, most of these non-canonical texts were only ever accepted by small portions of the early Christian community.
Here is a list of non-canonical gospels:
Gospel of Thomas
Gospel of Truth
Gospel of Philip
Gospel of Peter
Gospel of Mary Magdalene
Gospel of the Egyptians
Gospel of the Hebrews
Gospel of James
Gospel of Judas
The Gospel of Mary Magdalene was found in the Akhmim Codex, a gnostic text of the New Testament apocrypha acquired by Dr Rheinhardt in Cairo in 1896.
The gospel was not published until 1955, after the Nag Hammadi library had also appeared. The other texts of the Akhmim Codex were in the Nag Hammadi texts, but not this Gospel. In this only known copy of the text, pages 1–6 and 11–14 are missing. It has been suggested in popular literature that this is a Gospel of Mary Magdalene, and thus has become known by this name, although her last name is not mentioned in the text, and it could be any one of the other Marys from the New Testament, or even another Mary who is not mentioned.

That's an excellent question. How do we know there wasn't? The Holy Bible was put together by church officials who decided what got in & what was thrown out. There very well may be a Gospel of Mary (other than Mary Magdalene), perhaps we have yet to discover it. Or, maybe it was destroyed.

Because in the 300s CE, a group of MEN sat down and picked and chose the passages that let them keep power, bring hatred against the Jews and any other non Christian faith and subjugate women and other races.
This is why there are only 4 Gospels when there were 12 Apostles plus Mary and others who traveled with Jesus.

Mary was the mother of Christ...wow that was 6 words... would make for a good Gospel huh? Seriously, The importance of Mary was giving birth to Christ and raising him under the direction of the Lord .... That is really all we need to know about Mary or I'm sure that God would have given us more... I feel that the key to the Bible is not adding to or taking away from it... in other words, dont add things in just because it sounds good or you think it needs more attention.... nor take away from it because its not what you wanta hear or you think its really not that important... God has decided what is important for us to know from those days and we just have to accept that.

She was Jesus mother, and served her purpose in life. God did not feel a gospel of Mary was needed. Actually very few women were written about.

Because only a few gospels of the bible have survived repression, theft, destruction and fearful denial, there may well have been. We now know that there is a gospel thought to be written by Jesus himself.

Because the Qu'ran was written five hundred years after either Jesus or Mary, so unless the Qu'ran is inspired by God, it can't be true. The inspiration of the Qu'ran is something far too exhaustive to get into in this small space, but I'd see

I believe there are/where over 300 "Gospels". Most of which were rejected at the council of Nicene by the original "Catholics" who decided what "Holy" books would become part of the bible.

there is it is called the gospel of Luke, Luke was not there at the time of Jesus, he learned what he knew about Jesus's life from his mother Mary, that is why it has portions of the life of Jesus that the other Gospels do not.
