because no one had ever heard of him at the time. I don't know, how ancient are we talking about? You do realize that if someone didn't exhist, that there wouldn't be anything saying they didn't exhist right?

You answered your own question.
Are there any documents that reject the existence of the purple horned snorkstack? No? Jee I wonder why? Could it be that when something does not exist, the burden of proof rests on those that say it does, and not on those that know it doesn't exist?
Could it really be a simple as that?
What you need to do is find historical documents, from the period, that support his existence. And since no such document exists, it would be a waste of time. Just like your religion.
Oh and whynotaskdon, you almost made me spit coke out of my nose! That was hilarious!
Josephus was born YEARS after the supposed death of christ. He isn't much of a witness or historian since he can barely get geographic sites correct.
But you morons keep quoting him for some bizzare reason.

Why, when you read the Bible, are you not left in awe? For example, look though this small collection of Bible verses:
* Deut 25:11-12
* Genesis 38:8-10
* Deut 21:18-21
* Ex 35:2
* Lev 20:13
* Isaiah 13:13-16
* Exodus 21:20-21
* 1 Tim 2:11-12
* Col 3:22-23
* Luke 14:26
* Deut 22:13-21
* Isaiah 40:8
These verses feel like utter nonsense, don't they? We can find thousands of verses like these in the Bible.
So we are forced to ask a question: Why doesn't a book written by God leave you with a sense of wonder and amazement? If you are reading a book written by the all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving creator of the universe, wouldn't you expect to be stunned by the brilliance, the clarity and the wisdom of the author? Would you not expect each new page to intoxicate you with its incredible prose and its spectacular insight?
Instead, opening the Bible inevitably creates a feeling of dumbfoundment. Have you ever noticed that? Instead of brilliance, much of the Bible contains nonsense. Several of the topics of the previous proofs, for example where we discussed the Bible's advocacy of slavery, are excellent examples. But they are just the tip of the iceberg. You can open the Bible to almost any page and find nonsense instead of wisdom.
Why, in other words, is the Bible so useless? Why does the author of the Bible, who is supposed to be God, who is supposed to be all-knowing, know so little? Why is the knowledge of the author limited to the knowledge of the primitive men who wrote the book? If you think about what you are reading in the Bible in the context of an all-knowing God who supposedly wrote it, none of it makes any sense. But if you think about the Bible as being a book written by primitive men like you would find in the remote regions of Afghanistan today, it makes complete sense.
The reason is because God is imaginary. "God" had nothing to do with the Bible. The Bible was written by primitive men, many of who were obviously insane.

All documents and manuscripts prove, without a doubt, the existence of Jesus and the Truth and Infallibility of The Bible.

Have you seen any documents that reject that any god or goddess of the past existed ? Nope ! China, the Greeks and Romans all had their own religions and gods and goddess. Do you really think the Christians would even allow such papers to exist without destroying them ? The Christians tried to destroy everything they did'nt agree with when they came into contact with a new culture. So if such papers ever existed, I'd guess they are long gone....

When the particular cult of Christianity (there were many) that ultimately succeeded began its sharp ascendancy, it was largely due to the good luck of having cult members in Constantine's retinue. He became their 'patron'. With the power of the emperor behind them, the road to success involved persecuting, silencing, killing those that presented a contrary view, and burning all of their writings. Under later 'Holy Roman' emperors, all Pagan writings and knowledge (such as Classical Greek) were also destroyed, leading us right into the Dark Ages.
After the Moors (Moslems) conquered Spain, they translated ancient Pagan writings (which THEY had preserved) into Latin. Access to this revived Pagan knowledge lifted of the veil of ignorance which Christianity had imposed upon the West, and led directly to the Renaissance and the ascendancy of secularism and rational thought, the emergence of science, etc.
Islam and Fundamentalist Christianity (Dominionism, Reconstructionism, Theonomy) seem to be intent on leading us back into the Dark Ages.

He definitely exists. We have found so many documents and artifacts that prove the truth of the Bible. People are just dumb and want to rely completely on logic and say that there is no way any magic being could exist to create us, but then they believe that we just appeared out of nowhere. Go figure. I don't see how anyone can look around at the world...the trees, life, the sky, everything, and not believe. It just astounds me. People are too self-absorbed and want to think they know everything and have complete control over every aspect of everything.

It is mentally lazy to say that Jesus didn't exist. There is historical fact that yes he did live in the manner which he claimed. He was arrested and crucified. These are facts not from the Bible but from historians of the time.
To make the claim that he never lived is nothing more than laziness. Before making a foolish comment that you can't back up check your history. I didn't say that these other historians claimed him to be the Christ but they did prove that he was a man and that he was put to death. The Roman government did keep records of people that were put to death. There were other records of him also.

There are plenty of fairy tales that refer to the Universe as having come out of being when a crocodile took a dump (Papua New Guinea), or the Universe is a Giant Tree (Norse), or The Sun God decided to have something to rule over (Ancient Egypt).. so its all crap. If you've got an intelligent brain you wouldn't need to think about the evidence too long.

what are you talking about? manuscripts? In the ancient time, pope is more powerful than the king, any king in Europe. Who is going to oppose the pope or religion will die. Anything that disagree with the church will be destroy. Do you think there will be anything left. All witness dead and all evidence destroyed. Later generations are brainwashed by the church.

There must be countless legendary figures, that don't have ancient documents rejecting there existence.

Isn't the Josephus reference an obvious later insertion, because of it's style, and context?
