First lets look at what is a square. A square is a number multiplied by itself. For example 2(squared) or 2 X 2 = 4... square root is the oppisite. The square root of 4 is 2

simple answer is the number that multiplies by itself once to make another... eg. 3 is square route of 9 as 3x3=9 and so on...

it is all to do with gardening

if you have a square garden, an area of say, 16 square yards,
the "square root" is the length of each side of it, 4 yards.

cos 4 x 4 = 16
