No, it certainly isn't. I am a Christian, and a church going one. And I have a hard time dealing with legalists and wacko fundamentalist.

I have actually studied this and the reason is that because Western medicine is more to the point. It comes with a more instant and specific result. Eastern medicine is meant to and does, in my belief, treat a whole person to achieve an overall better state of physical and emotional health over time. Now in the East, where acupuncture and the things you mentioned are used almost exclusively, they are used throughout a person's entire life. They live in a different way entirely. And they are proactive with their medicine. Here in the West, we have a symptom or an illness before seeking treatment. Acupuncture will not cure cancer or even arthritis. But it can be effectively used here in conjunction with traditional medicine. In short, unless you use Eastern medicine as Easterners do, you will always have better results with Western medicine, which seems more effective for us due to our point of view, our expectations, our comparison of the two. They are not to be used in the same way and when an American tries an Eastern technique and doesn't get instant results, the technique gets a bad rap.

Why do you think it is against the bible teachings to use natural herbs and home remedies. That is what they used for thousands of years before Tylenol and Penicillin came along. God told us to make use of the plants and the animals. Your question has nothing to do with "church going" christians. I am a christian and don't go to church every time the door is open. That still does not mean I don't belief and respect God's word.

I'm with bobm709.
God created herbs. Man takes herbs and makes chemical reproductions as medicine. Problem is that the pharmaceutical versions have side effects.
I also don't believe in all the explanations about why they work, but we use several combinations along with diet to keep my husband's type II diabetes under control. He came off Glucophage a year and a half ago and his A1C's have been in the 5.7-5.9 range. (7 and under is normal. His first one - before he started treatment was 12.9)

No. God put the herbs and such on the earth to help heal. I don't believe in many of the reasons they say it works (warm blood, cold blood, etc), but I don't deny it works.

God created everything. Medicine is to be used to treat people with problems. There isn't anything wrong with Chinese medicine as long as it does not violate any Biblical truth.
