Over time, bacteria ferment the bananas. The fermentation results in new fluids/gases that smell rotten.

Any fruit that has a smell (they all do) and is put in a bag will make that bag smell like the fruit that was in it. Enclosing a fruit will cause it to ripen more than it is, therefore putting out more of their natural smell. I hope this helps.

what do you mean-bad one..?All fruits have their own smell(and veggies),i think they smell nice-but if you keep bananas in your bag-the chance is they gonna get all soft as they seem to get ripe by the minute(you know some fruits ripen even when they are picked already..?!)-next time put in a cool bag or something like that.. =)

Bananas smell because maybe they have been in the sun for too long, or it was just rotten before you put it in your bag.

Well actually, bananas don't smell. You can smell bananas. Bananas have an odour, that is not the same as smelling.

Hmmm....that possibility can certainly quite NATURALLY happen! Foremost...Exactly how long has that banana been dwelling within your bag? Then, has it also been exposed to any high heat waves such temp. degrees during the duration of that "one day"?
