There is a spell checker right in the design of the program!?!

Some people are in a real rush to be the first to answer a question, so they don't bother using the spell checker.

Other people simply don't care.

Another group of people can barely speak English to begin with, so I doubt that they even know what "Check Spelling" means.

Then there's the people who don't want the spell checker to stop at each "LOL" and "pls" that they type.

I see five basic reasons:

1. Many people are typing the same way the do for instant messaging or texting.

2. English is not the askers' native language.

3. Many are writing in current "kewl" style because they want to appear cool.

4. They never learned how to type or to spell correctly in school.

5. They don't care.

A couple of reasons, people really don't know how to spell, they don't know how to click on the little blue check spelling, they type without re-checking what keys they're hitting - I guess that's a few reasons, not a couple.

because we're all about the easy way out. spell checking might take an entire 2.5 seconds! that's a whole 2.5 seconds they could use to post another brilliant, misspelled answer for a different question!
