Should the " Minute men " be given National recognition.?

The Minute men are patriots , and took it upon them selves to help stop the injustice cause tothis country by Illegal aliens. Should they be given some form of recognition ?

Yes. They are truly hero's to most Americans. They have put themselves in harm for the sake of America. Hope they keep up the good work.

Their opponents call them racists, and worse, but they have highlighted a national problem and brought it into the realm of open public debate, the more facts that can be put on the table iwth this one, the better, I think...there's a lot of people out there who are unhappy with the whole thing because of some of the BS that Congress has been trying to feed the public, on the issue, I think there's probably more than one provable instance of conflict-of-interest that should be highlighted and made plain,
I think the job of government is to effectively and expeditiously enforce the law, and I don't think it's been done in some of the southern states for so long in regards to the immigration issue that they've frankly sort of forgotten how, or they don't have the money, or or or....I think cross-border trade legal or otherwise is very lucrative, and as soon as you wave a lot of money in front of some people, they'll kind of do whatever you want em to, regardless if it's legal or not, and that's a battle for the courts, something the Minutemen can't really do. Kudos to em for getting more people to consider the issue, maybe we'll see some good reforms over the next couple of years that'll effectively handle the problem...

Yes! The minute men should receive awards for heroism for what they've started. Its because of their activism that the country is taking a hard look at the border problem. Its shameful how long this problem has been going on, and how political leaders on both sides have ignored it for all these years. I can think of no other country that allows its borders to be overran like ours, willfully anyways. Even countries that are surrounded on all sides doesnt have its neighbors pouring in like our southern border does. And what other country would allow illegals to come in waving their native flags, and let mis-use our system? None, thats who.

I support the actions of the minutemen, and I hope they keep up the good work.

the Minute Men should not be given national recognition but they say they are there to keep terrorists out of the country and illegal aliens out but (if I can repeat Carlos Mencia) if you remember September 11th the hijackers came from the Canadian border and are the minute men there? NO!!!!! and if there are terrorists coming across the mexican border they will be caught because if one terrorist gets across they shut down the border and all the times they did try they failed and do you know why beacuse the mexicans went to border patrol and said they no speak spanish and their a**ess went to gitmo so the minute men eventhough they are standing for what they beleive in they should get in their truck and drive north and stay on the canada border

Patriots such as the Minutemen, have taken it upon themselves to defend America in a time of need, against all enemies who stand before them in a legal and constitutional manner. They do this out of a sense of pride in their country and way of life, which they are fighting to preserve. Recognition for them will come when the goals they have set are accomplished, until then they are dedicated to their cause and are too busy to recieve any National honor, nor do they ask for any. Honor them by sending a donation to them if you will. That would be the best way to honor them, support them, for they are defending you also.

You notice the national media has been very quiet about the minutemen. Anyone who criticizes them and calls them names such as racist, etc. shows a clear disregard for America. Because they are simply watching over the border. They are doing a job the US government hasn't been doing for years and they aren't robbing taxpayers either. They are out there for free. No we shouldn't. How do you know they are patriots, disguised as racists. They came to my community and they were booted out of here. Sorry but true. They were seen as a vigilante group.
There is no injustice done here by illegals, they only come here for work and they bother no one. Its the locals that cause all the problems here...

According to an article I read yesterday, they sort of have national recognition. Apparently Mike Pence who came up with an alternate 'guest worker' program to tack onto the House Bill quoted Gilchrist (Minuteman organizer) as endorsing his plan when he spoke to a forum about it. (Gilchrist says he was just congratulating Pence on seeking other options, that he doesn't endorse it.)

I think if Congressmen are seeking Minuteman endorsements, they sort of HAVE been given a national recognition.
