Seriously, the staff undergo frequent training for crash landings. The staff is supposed to stay as calm as possible and direct the passengers.

On the lighter side: the instruction goes: attention ladies and gentlemen, we are about to crash. Please hold your elbows, put your arms above your head, bend down to your waist and kiss your BLEEP goodbye!

The crew is taught through frequent training on what to do and to stay calm. A GOOD captain/pilot would not even tell his crew unless necessary, to avoid panic.

you are supposed to stay calm so the passengers don't get worried. taht is why they explain the safty procedures while you are getting ready to take off.
