What would you do if your wife refused to be submissive. I.E.: Walking behind you, letting you be the patriarch who makes the decisions, do all the housework, only talk when you give her permission to, is silent in church, does everything that you tell her to do, and wear only dresses and head coverings. What would you do if she refused to do that? What if she wanted to make marriage and equal partnership and didn't abide by the biblical "rules." What would you do?

”Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to …usurp authority over the man…And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. I'm having trouble finding all the verses I wrote them on seperate pieces of paper. Stupid idea, really. I only own the New Testament.
I'm not a Christian-hating shrew, either, I'm a Christian myself, and my preist is a female and I thinks he's a very good one despite the fact that the bible says preists should be males.

Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head - it is just as though her head were shaved. If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head. A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the glory of man. For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; neither was man created for a woman, but woman for man. For this reason, and because of the angels, the woman ought to have a signo of authority on her head. Corinthians 10:15.

Actually, my mother and father took care of me when I was a baby. I would wake up eat breakfast with my mom and then my dad would come home, he worked the night shift, and he would watch children's shows with me and put me down for my nap. Then, we would do daddy daughter things liking going to the zoo and the park. Then, my mom would come home and we would go see my grandma and eat lunch. Then we would come home, we would eat dinner, and my dad would go to work and we would all go to sleep. My mom and dad both taught me manners and both raised me.

I am a woman so it is a little difficult to answer that question but I can say what the Word of God says.
The man is to be the head of his house and to love his wife as Christ loved the church and gave His life for it. Submission doesn't mean that she is his slave it means that she looks to him to guide and lead the family. That doesn't mean he rules like a dictator either. They are equal but they have God given roles that entirely different. God has given an order to all things in creation and the order he gave to the home is the man is the head of the home. Not only is the wife to submit but the children also should submit.
People often are upset by this but if you think about it we submit to something of one kind or another from the time that we are born until we die so this should not be a problem. ie: government ect.

Marriage is an equal partnership.
1. Two become one flesh
2. Two wills sacrificed for the joining of one.
Submission, from a wife's standpoint, is acknowledging the headship over her, and having the wisdom to use the spiritual covering that God has placed over her.
NOTE: Nowhere in the Bible does it say for the wife to love her husband. Why?
Anyway, My wife walks by my side, we share the housework (In fact, I do more since she works nites) and is silent in church. This way she can enjoy the sermon and allow God to talk to her.
The Bible says that her husband IS her covering.
It also says that a woman dress in moderation. The best way to describe this is a woman needs to dress in a way where other men could look lustily at her (short skirts, tight blouses, cleavage, etc.)
My wife is my partner, my best friend, my confidante, my lifelong companion, my lover, my missing rib. She is my queen. But she still acknowledges that I am her spiritual covering. As long as she remains under this, it is my responsibility for her well-being, spiritually as well as socially and physically. If she doesn't, she no longer falls under my protection, she is on her own.
She knows the right choice. She knows how much I love her. I would die for her if needed.

I would say, "HI sweetie. What's your day been like?"
The last time she walked behind me, right behind me, was to protect herself from the rain. My wife of almost 4 decades would crack up if I suggested any of that nonsense.
More to the point, why would anyone want a woman that was a mere "faithful servant"? You should outgrow the need for your Mommy by the time you're ready for marriage. And by the way, that's what that's all about: they can't let go of Mommy. And I don't give a hoot what infantile prophet dressed it up to sound "authoritative."
As to the veils & such, I'm of a mind they're frightened by the idea of a real woman and her desires. So they try to hide them under yards of cloth. This also accounts for the big push to marry "virgins." Hey! The guy might get compared!
UPDATE: This is also one of those hilarious topics where Christians & Muslims try to annul one set of verses with another. Oh sure ... yeah ...right ... women are "equal" to men in those ideologies. Can I interest any of you in Brooklyn Bridge stock? Never mind us, can you just stop insulting your own intelligence?

God made Eve from a rib on Adams RIGHT side. She is your HELP MEET (Gen 2:18), not your slave. God did not create Eve from one of the bones form Adams foot. She is NOT, and I repeat NOT you INFERIOR, she is you EQUAL, although she is the weaker vessel, and you have the FINAL say, you are to include her in ALL of you decision making. Listen to her opinions, and ideas, her beliefs, and desires, participate in her happiness, and her sadness. Be kind, and generous to her. Remember, without a mother, you would not be here! Your mother loved you, cared for you, patty trained you (try having the patience to do that [potty training a baby]), taught you your manners, etc. another words LOVE YOUR WIFE AS JESUS LOVES THE CHURCH!!! The hierarchy is 1) God 2)Jesus 3)Husband 4) Wife.

Who would want such a 'submissive' wife?
I can hire a maid for what you described ...or teach a dog.
"Submissive" is a very extreme word.
Couldn't a wife be co-operative, just like a husband should be sometimes?
Co-operating means bending a bit, not always having things our way, but that's why people say we must WORK at our marriage.
I wouldn't marry a woman so 'submissive' ...so I wouldn't have to face the situation you present.

Biblical submission does not imply a taskmaster/slave relationship. Love always seeks the good of the other person, which includes listening to and understanding their needs and desires. Of course there will be times of disagreement but a final decision should be made carefully by the man only once he has condidered all the factors, and listened to the opinions of the woman. If he truly loves her, he will be willing to in most cases to surrender his own selfishness to please her. This is a win win scenario, when the woman sees the selfless acts of the ,man, she is more willing to submit to his desires in situations also.

First, from what I know about the Bible, there is nothing in it that says a wife is supposed to be any of those submissive things. To do that is to treat her like property, and not like who she is, an equal, a human being. In Genesis, it says that when God made man and woman, He created them equal. The two become one flesh. A man is to love her like his own flesh, and if he does, he will treat her as his equal, with equal dignity, equal respect, equal integrity, and she will do the same for him. They must simply love each other as they love themselves, and all the rest will follow.
God bless,
Danny

I don't want a slave I want an intelligent free thinking confident wife. The bible and Quran teaching are quite irrelevant. I know that no self respecting person would " buckle " under the pressure. If that kind of behavior, "makes a guys dick hard" he's an insecure little wimp!

It says for a man to treat his wife as he would himself, with love and respect. I am a christian and have never been treated this way. I no that they do do this in a lot of other countries though. I think a lot of it is due to their cultures, were women are thought of as property, and less than the animals. Men that treat their women like this are the lowest creatures on earth.
