be honest. Go to a judge and say you don't have money and be very apologetic (tell the reason what happened eg..). If they will not scrap it they might just as well lower the money punishment.

Also, see on the ticket if there is any mistake, spelling etc. Once it is, it cancels the ticket as the information should be 10000% correct.

In the U.S. at least, try challenging the constitutionality of the law for which you are being ticketed. (For example, a fine violates the 14th Amendment guarantee of equal protection under the law, as a fine could cripple a poor person but be pocket change to a rich person.) If that doesn't work, seek like-minded people who dislike traffic tickets; form a political action committee, and recruit and support candidates for office who will repeal the ticketing laws. In that case, you might not ever get your money back, but at least you'll never again be ticketed for an "offense" that didn't hurt anyone. This approach would be an uphill battle that would take more time and effort than just paying the fine, but that's exactly what governments are counting on when they pull stunts like this.

Any way you try is likely to be criminal. The ticket carries a fine but the crimes associated with trying to get out of it carry a prison sentence. Do you feel lucky?

Wasn't there a truck behind you that didn't look like it could stop without hitting you? And wasn't it a decision not to stop, to avoid a collision for the safty of all those involved. Go to court and plead innocent to any wrong doing. Remember that it is just as illegal to stop fast and create an accident as it is to run a light to avoid one.

Best way to get out of it? don't break the law. Works for me every time.

Your question does not make your character look good either. Do you really want to go down the road of being a cheat?
