I support the troops but I do not support our president for sending our troops to a war that was unjust. The troops did not die for us, they died for Bush. The troops do not give us life, God does He is our creator not the troops so stop asking silly questions such as this.

as an American i have the right to say what ever i want (to an extent), about anything i want regarding America...
but i don't feel that it is right for non American's to say bad things about America....

kind of in the same way it is ok for an older sibling to pick on a younger sibling but god forbid anyone outside the family should hurt the younger sibling...

but if this is how i feel as an American, it should be the same for anyone from Mexican, Europe, Asia or even the moon...

i do not like wars in general because people die, on both sides.
i know that some wars need to happen and some people should never be let into power.

being a soldier is a very important thing but it is still a job and like all jobs it comes with risks.

i do not like how the war has been handled from behind the scenes, i do not like how our troops come back mentally damaged and that our troops cannot always fit back into society because of the damage done to them...

i think the military does a damn fine job at what they do but i hate the need for them to do it.

i just hate that we as humans cannot stop the greed (power, money, control) and cannot find better ways to exist...

but as a group enlarges there are always ways in nature that "cull the herd", be it human actions or natural disaster.

i do support our troops

I have heard no one say that they don't support the troops. What I have heard is a lot of right-wing blowhards accuse others of not supporting the troops when they question or criticize the president or his administration. FOR THE LAST TIME: Being critical of Bush and his actions and poilicies does NOT mean that one doesn't support the troops. I support the troops to the extent that I do not want any of them dying in a war that we were lied into.

Those that dont support our troops should be over there and see what they do to defend our country. I dont agree with some of
the things that have happened lately. Yes when we do have soldiers there that have done wrong, but they are paying for it.
One of our soldiers is facing four death sentences for the last incedent. This is how I look at my husband has been in the Military for 22years. He doest always agree with why he has to do some of the things he does but it is his job. His job is to defend
our country so u dont have too. If they brought back the draft, then the ones that sit and complain about our troops would get first hand at what they see and do. Like these men want to be away from there families like they are. Mine is over there for a year and worry about him everyday. I dont send a care package just to him, I send it to his whole division. So yes I support our troops and my husband. They volunteered to join the Military, if the Draft comes back then others will be forced to do defend our country. Until then just thank God there are ones that are dying defending our country so you dont have to!

The better question is "How can you say I support the troops, but not their mission"
If you don't support what are troops are doing, then you DO NOT support them. When you protest the war, you attack them.

Ours is a world governed by the aggresive use of force.
Peace is only gained, by the elimination of your enemies.

These are undeniable truths, like them or not.

Way to go Natalie R.!

I have many veterans in my family. It's not an issue of supporting or not supporting the troops, but supporting or not supporting the mission on which they have been sent. I disagree with their msision. That isn't the same as saying I spit on them when they return home, or send them hate mail They are doing their jobs. The job they were asked to do is what we do not support.

Step out of you blind, sheepish patriotism and learn to think for yourself.

People who don't support the troops mean they don't support why they are fighting in Iraq.

It's not against them, it's against the Bush Administration.

Unfortunately, being an ex-military man myself, my family didn't understand why I did what I did during the persian gulf war, somalia, kosovo, and countless other wars that people have forgotten.

They ask me why? You some war junkie?" You know what I'd say? I wouldn't say a damn word. Why? They wouldn't understand. You wouldn't understand. No one understands why we do it.

No one understand that it's about the man next to you, and that's it. That's all it is.

And unless you've picked up a weapon and have been in combat with your brother by your side, you will never understand.

I support our troops 100%. Not any regular american can just do what they do, and sacrifice what they do. Bless them all...

I had a roommate in my freshman year of college and we were talking about the war in Iraq, and I told him I didn't support it (being the war) and he said...well my brother is in Iraq, what would you say to my parents. What a cheap shot. To assume that every american who doesn't support this war, doesn't love our troops and what they do/have done for us.
