Well who says you are separate from God? Only our Egos. The self is not separate from God.
Those who know the self become the self none in their family forgets the self. freed from the fetters of separateness, they attain immortality.

I think your question should be "If we need God why did we create Him?" It is more likely that life as we know it evolved naturally and as humans appeared as the dominant species and, purportedly, the most intelligent, we were unable to explain the workings of nature, the rotation of the planets, the appearance of the sun and moon, the seasons and the world in general. It was thus an easy option to invent 'Gods' to explain these things and credit them with our creation. All ancient civilisations had their own gods many of whom are still worshipped even today. Now we have Jehovah, Yahweh, Allah, Buddah, Brahma Vishnu and Shiva, and a myriad of others who have replaced Zeus (and all the Greek gods), Odin (and all the Norse Gods), Jupiter (and all the Roman gods) and all the others worshipped in those times. There is no logic in believing in 'God' or any of the others. They are all man made creations used to demonstrate our mortal limitations and to give reassurance that we can still live, even after death, in some paradise where we will spend eternity in everlasting bliss. The reality is that we live and die in our allotted time and then rot into the dust from which we first evolved. I suppose that belief in such sentient beings gives comfort to some but it gives a hell of a lot of money and control to a select few who head various religions. I bet the pope has been laughing his socks off for years.

Well, to answer your first question of IF and WHY: Yes, there is a God and Why did He create us? He's probably asking Himself the same question..chuckle... No, God doesn't need US, we need Him. Why? Because....

The Door to living in God's Presence, in fellowship with Him, was CLOSED when the first Adam was kicked out...(which ruined it for everyone) before this he was perfect and knew God deeply. A second perfect Adam REOPENED the Door so that we could be restored to the original Relationship. So man chooses which Adam he wants to follow. Not choosing just leaves you in the first one...outside the closed door. But all are welcomed to come through the open one if they want. The only thing is, the Age of Grace is ready to come to a close...which means the Door will be closing as well. So, people, don't wait too long. Jesus is the only DOOR to God. If you don't enter, it's your own choice...God doesn't choose it for you. Christ is the door to the spiritual "Ark"...when the floods of judgment come again....WHERE WILL YOU BE?

I know not all can understand this, but at least you won't be able to say, "But Lord...I DIDN'T KNOW! Nobody ever told me!"

God is a creative being:God the eternal Father is the Creator, Source, Sustainer, and Sovereign of all creation. He is just and holy, merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. The qualities and powers exhibited in the Son and the Holy Spirit are also revelations of the Father. (Gen. 1:1; Rev. 4:11; 1 Cor. 15:28; John 3:16; 1 John 4:8; 1 Tim. 1:17; Ex. 34:6, 7; John 14:9.)

All creation needs Him as stated above He is the sustainer.

God created us for fellowship with Him. He didn't HAVE to, He wanted to. WE need Him He is the Creator, we are the created. We wouldn't even exist with out Him. We need God, but God doesn't NEED us, He WANT'S us!

Don't be arrogant and know who are you ( a very weak creature) and who is God. He created you because He is a creator and He creates all kind of things, even good and bad, health and sickness, so contradictory thinks show the beauty of good.

God created us to have a relationship with us. Though we were separated from Him, due to disobedience in the Garden of Eden, He sent His Son to die in our place, so we could be restored with a right-standing relationship with Him. That's how much He loves us. John 3:16.

Think of the Earth as that old tennis ball behind the garage in the weeds. Moldy with microscopic critters living on it. Well we're those critters on a larger scale. You are God to those little guys but you don't give them much thought do you?

In order to be God, He would have to have someone to worship Him, wouldn't He?

But our need for Him is much, moch greater than His need.

A man can live without a woman but if he finds a good woman, they are good for each other and they help each other. They need each other.

But if he chose to live without her, then you could say that he can live without her. In other words, he does not really need her.

It is like that with God. But the one who chooses to love Him in return for the love He has to offer - that is one person that benefits in ways the other people will never understand.

I think it's both. God created us in His image (read: likeness) for the same reason that we as humans want to have children; to love and be loved.

God's nature is creation and love. He created us to have fellowship with Him. Remember the chief end of ALL mankind is to praise and glorify God.
