Matthew, Mark, Luke and John have four different endings to the ressurection scene. If the book was true and "God's word" wouldn't the stories match?

There is no way to prove even the existence of a "God," let alone a book purported to be written by such a "God."

What is interesting also is the lack of Roman records regarding Jesus, given the Roman's knack for extensive record keeping.

To "beachblonde1992" who messaged me: just because people choose to REASON that nature is a creation by a "God" proves the existence of a "God" as much as it proves the existence of a Flying Purple Spaghetti Monster ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Spaghetti_Monster ) who created all things. The CHANCE that there is a "God" that created the earth and humans is less than the chance that evolution is correct. At least evolution can offer some proof whereas "God" cannot be proved, only speculated.

actuality. You ask a question with constrained area and then pick data to help. what number data do you've time and area for? in the starting up, the Bible has been used for geographic accuracy. 2d, it really is been used for archaeological accuracy. third, it really is been used for historic accuracy. The Bible said the earth replaced into round about 700BC previously astronomers knew it. Many have puzzled the Bible at situations although those questions blow away. get mutually, scientists puzzled no matter if the Hittites were a genuine those that were said contained in the Bible until eventually archaeologists found pictures and inscriptions at some web content. The Bible has survived many tries at burying it or destroying it. i.e. the Romans, the Catholic Church, purges, and intense persecution of its adherents. The Romans were well known for his or her tortures for 315 years yet Christianity depending on the Bible grew besides! i am going to advise 5 astounding books that answer this authoritatively contained in the source section. That technology is termed Apologetics. it really is a wide, significant question -calls for a wide answer.

You will find in the Gospels many places where we think we have contradictions, but there are only formal differences, depending on the specific of every writer (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John). Anyway, their writings were occasional, so they shoud be regarded as that. You will not find major differences between the Gospels (example: Matthew starts the genealogy of Christ with Abraham, the father of the jewish people, because his Gospel was meant for the jewish people; Luke starts his genealogy with Adam, because he speaks for all the nations, not only for the choesen people), but it doesen't really matter who was the ancestor of Jesus, does it? So, you have the same story, but the person who tells it is different...

I believe the bible is fact. My life became much better since I decided to make the Bible my authoritative guide to all of my beliefs and actions. I have make it my life's goal to study it and learn as much as I can about it so that I don't live life by my opinions or the opinions of others, but I live my life based upon what God says in His Word.

There are so many today that do not know God's Word, but yet they have strong opinions on it. It's like a Christian not reading The Da Vinci Code, but yet criticizing the book and the movie (read my perspective on The Da Vinci Code at http://www.lovinggodfellowship.org/the_da_vinci_code ). People should not form an opinion on the Bible until they read it all.

I used to live by my own standards and opinions. I have a degree in Computer Science and had a very prosperous career in the computer industry. I worked for two fortune 400 companies and had my own consulting business, but I was not happy. I'm now finding happiness in living by God's Word and pointing others to the truths in it that will bring them satisfaction and happiness in life; not only now, but for all eternity.

I have made free Bible resources available at http://www.lovinggodfellowship.org/about_the_bible . Please read the Bible, study it and make it your authoritative guide for all of your beliefs and actions. You will be filled with abundant life!

I have prayed for you today.

Know that you are loved!

The Bible is all fact. Like others have said the 4 gospels were written by 4 different men for different audiences.

***mypublicident - your answer shows your ignorance. God is the ultimate judge. Do you call all judges on Earth murderers when they sentence someone to the death penalty? God flooded the Earth because all the inhabitants minus Noah and his family were all corupt and evil without exception.

Read them again. Some of the gospels have more details and some do not there are also things that are repeated in in all. remember, the gospels were also written at different times and by different disciples and when you read again you will find more details on Jesus' birth in Matthew than you do John, more parables in the first 3 than the last. Read it again there are many similarities.

If it is fact, then all of these people are following the most heinous murderer in the solar system!!! He killed off a whole planet with a great flood. He later killed innocent babies in Egypt because he was mad at their parents. Aren't babies supposed to be innocent? Amazing how people will follow this murderer and ignore these facts. If it is fact, then God can't even follow his own commandments. For these reasons, you either realize that the bible is fiction or you are following a mass murderer.

The Bible is Fact. If the accounts were exactly the same would you not accuse the writers of collaborating their stories?
Their accounts are different but they in no way contradict each other they are just told from a different point of view.
If you and another person stood one in front of me and one in back of me and described what you saw in detail, your accounts would be totally different, and they would not match, but you both would be describing the same person and you both would be correct ( if you reported honestly)

It is a history book, like any History book, They have different points of view.
You have to understand that some of the recolections were written 100 years after they happened. Many things would have been written with or without particular interests in mind.
