this is the best way we like to have corn on the cob. the corn finishes cooking in the butter and seasoning, instead of adding them afterwards. it's also really easy to prepare as a side dish at a bbq, since you can do all the prep. ahead of time, and then just place them on the grill. we use greek seasoning, but i have used a variety of spices, be adventurous!

4 ears corn on the cob (the frozen kind, if you want to use fresh, pre-boil until done)
butter, set out until softened
seasoning of your choice
garlic powder
salt
pepper
all purpose Greek seasoning

light grill, you want a medium fire.
thaw corn.
cut approx 6 inches sheets of aluminum foil.
coat ears of corn with softened butter.
shake seasoning on each ear of corn.
wrap each ear of corn in a foil sheet.
place on grill, and grill for approximately 30-45 minutes over indirect heat.

Great! I just tried this for the first time on Sunday. I used the method I saw Bobby Flaw use.

Peel off the first few layers of corn husk and leave on a few to keep the corn cob covered. The pull off the silk and rewrap in the remaining husk. Then soak in ice water for 30 to 40 minutes. You may have to set something like a brick on top the corn to keep it submerged. Then heat up your grill on medium. Cook the corn on med 15 to 20 minutes, checking and turning every 5 minutes. The grill marks look good on the corn and I thought it tasted better than the old boiled kind.
Good luck and happy Fourth Of July!

no matter what method you use be careful about adding butter to corn on the grill... my mom singed her eyebrows off that way.

simply cook over coals or on a gas grill turning occasionally until the husks become slightly charred. Depending on your grill this could take as little as 10 minutes or as much as 20 minutes. It takes a little experimenting to determine how long you like your corn cooked. Once grilled the ears will stay hot for some time or can be put in a slow over or covered container to keep warm until serving. Have a tub of melted butter to brush on and enjoy!

I usually don't soak my corn, I just peel the husk off or tie it back to make a hanldle, remove the silk & place it directly on the grill and brush with either a compound or straight butter, turn 1/4 turn, continue to turn & brush until I get the diesired duness I want, brush final time just before service.

Pretty much what they said, but I like to pull the husks back part way and remove the silk before soaking. Recover with the husks.
