I asked my daughter's doctor this same question years ago, because she had pulled out all but 2-3 lashes! The doctor said that if she continued to pull them out, the follicles would eventually fail to produce the hair, but pulling them out ONE or TWO times would not cause that.

If it is a habit, YOU MUST STOP, because you really CAN injure your eyelids and they really CAN stop creating new lashes!

So? On the one hand, your friend may be wrong, but, if the behavior is continued a few times, she may well be RIGHT.

God Bless.

I was using an eyelash curler a few weeks ago and some eyelashes stuck to it so when I pulled the curler away, about 4mm of eyelashes came with it. Very painful! However, they have already started to grow back and are about half the length of my other lashes.

Your gf is not very bright then, perhaps you should change gfs? Of course eyelashes grow back. Other than serious illness where the hair permenantly falls out and cancer patients going through chemo (and even then they grow back after a while) hair regularly falls out and grows back. Ur gf needs to stay in school and PAY ATTENTION

If she were right, most people would have no eyelashes left! Of course they grow back just like eyebrows or the hair on your head!

Eyelashes fall out on their own so unless are bodies are trying to completely get rid of them (which can't be right because we need them to keep dust and other irritants out of our eyes) they grow back.

Unfortunately, for some people, thats true, but for most they grow pretty much like normal hair, and even fall out themselves from time to time. I pull mine out all the time coz there's too many of them and they p!ss me off!
