A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER:
The correct way to burn fat and stay healthy is to burn more calories than you consume
You need to make sure you are eating healthy foods while still excercising
If you have a big appetite drink plenty of water so that you will feel full but not consume calories
But you should always eat
If you start to skip meals you will only be more hungry at your next meal and probably eat way too much
Remember, the average persons stomach is as big as a slice of pizza scrunched up into a ball
So you shouldnt be putting more food into your stomach than what fits
Also, it takes aproximately 15-20 minutes for your brain to realize that you are full
so eat slower and you will realize sooner when you are not hungry anymore

ALSO....
i found this artical called "50 Habits of "Naturally Thin" People
How to get Started:Decide how much you want to loose and see how many calories a day it will take to make it happen by year's end. Then, work into your routines however many of these eating tweaks and exercises you need to achieve your goal.

If you're not talking about losing a lot of weight and are only concerned about a few problem areas, intense workouts are great to pump your muscles with blood and fluid making them more plump therefore reducing the look of little bits of fat.

However, there are products that you can rub onto certain part of your body that temporarily eliminate fluid from fat cells making these problems areas look more toned. Body builders use it all the time before shows. Follow the directions very carefully because it's dangerous to use too much or to treat more than 1 or 2 areas of the body at a time. Check your local health food/health supplement store.

Since you have 3weeks, you can also try firming lotions like the one offered by Biotherm, Clinique, etc. Many larger cosmetic brands have their own version of the same type of product (you would need to use it on a daily basis starting as soon as possible). You can find these at any drug store or cosmetic counter.

Remember that all this is temporary and the best way to get your body in shape is diet and exercise but when you're strapped for time and have minimal problem areas there are products that can help.

**If you're looking to just use diet, try a complete detox for a week. This will help your body rid of toxins, jump start your digestion to work properly and help you rid of that extra water weight that may be stored in your body from too much toxins.

I used to work at a doctor's office and when we had patients who needed heart surgery or other complicated surgeries but were too heavy to do so right away, there was a doctor approved diet they were forced to follow that allowed them to drop anywhere from 10-17 lbs within 2 weeks. It is not recommended to stay on this diet for more than 14 days because you risk becoming malnutritioned (even though you're eating all the time on this diet) but it is a very effective detoxification as well. Remember that these patients were overweight so the weight came off rather quickly so don't expect 10 lbs. I would say that 7-9 lbs in 14days is more reasonable for someone with only a few pounds to lose. If you're interested in the 7day menu, let me know.

1st Question: How many pounds, exactly, are you trying to lose?

2nd Question: Do you have any pre-existing health conditions (diabetes, heart condition, etc.)?

3rd Question: Do you know your metabolic type and have you calculated how many calories you need per day to simply maintain your current body weight at your present activity level?

Once these questions are answered the answer to your question becomes rather elementary.

In reading the comments to your question I noted that a few people suggested staying away from carbs because 'they cause you to gain a lot of weight.' This simply isn't true if the carbs in question are eaten in moderation and in appropriate amounts for what your body needs. Remember, your brain operates on 100% carbohydrate-derived fuel. If you don't have enough carbs in your diet then you won't function as well mentally.

The key to weight loss, especially rapid weight loss, is to reduce your caloric intake (how much you eat), increase the amount of water you drink, increase fiber intake (this can result in a mild case of intestinal gas but that's easily alleviated) to help you 'fill-up,' and increase your activity level.

If you have 3 weeks in which to lose weight it shouldn't be difficult to drop 5 - 10 pounds. Assuming that you're female you'd also have to take into consideration monthly water weight gain due to hormone fluctuations (unless you don't menstrate because of a hysterectomy or menopause).

During the past 20+ years of helping people lose weight (especially women) I've found that the one obstacle that's the most difficult to overcome is the feeling of being hungry due to a decrease in calories. If you find that this is a problem and that simply adding additional fiber etc. doesn't help, try something like Dr. Bill's Choice Hooida. I've found it works wonderfully (my wife and I both use it -- I'm a pastor and sometimes eating just isn't an option during the day).

As a final note, once you figure out how many calories you need to lose weight, split that amount into a minimum of 5 but preferrably 6 small meals. This helps in two ways: 1) You don't over congest your stomach and/or intestines and 2) You know that your next meal is only a couple of hours away -- it's easier to 'power through' the hunger pangs knowing this.

The GI diet is really good. I'm on it right now, well I've only been on it less then a week, but you are supposed to lose a pound or two a week. Combine that with a good exercise program and I'm sure you can drop 3-5 pounds in 3 weeks. And plus you are never hungry, you eat 6 small balanced meals a day which helps to boost your metabolism. Good luck!!!

Homeopathic Treatment for Excessive Fat and Weight :-
PHYTOLACCA BERRY's Mother Tincture is perhaps the safest and sure fire way of loosing excessive fat around abdomen. With Phytolacca Berry once you loose the excessive fat and weight you don't get it back because you body takes care of itself after that and keeps you from gathering up excessive fat. It is prescribed after having a baby too, to get the tummy to loose its flab and to make it flatter and tighter. And after loosing weight with this you don't get flabby it tightens up the flab and skin along with helping your body to shed the excessive accumulation of fat around the girth
The dosage is 15 to 20 drops of the tincture in half a cup of hot water thrice a day half hour before or after meals.
Avoid Chocolates, Coffee, Mints, Red Meat and Carbonated and Alcoholic drinks while taking Homeopathic Medicines. You have to take it for at least 30 to 45 days after that you start to feel the results.
To the best of my knowledge its the safest and the most sure fire way of loosing fat and weight and keeping it of for keeps. Excellent remedy for Obese people who cant seem to shed weight despite trying.
Homeopathic Remedies can be found at all Major Herbal Stores or could be bought on line, In most of the world Homeopathic remedies are quite cheap and easy to find and they do not need a prescription.
Take care and God Bless !

the safest way is to eat smaller portions during your three meals with plenty of exercise. walking has lost me weight and i'm talking about several miles a day. use a treadmill if you can't get out and drink plenty of water. the normal portion for a meal is nothing bigger than your fist. on each portion. stay off the carbs, they gain alot of weight.

eat several small meals a day instead of three large ones, eating about every three hours. eliminate refined sugars and saturated fats. a moderate amount of weight training with lots of cardio should get you there easily.
