so far NONE of the foods mentioned above are good... IAMs used to be good until bought out by Proctor and Gamble some years ago who have added quite a bit of filler to the food
Purina and Friskies never were good - again filler issues and bad chemicals
ANY and ALL foods sold in grocery stores or Wal Mart are CRAP - loaded with fillers and some dangerous chemicals that are linked to cancers and other internal problems
AVOID BHT, BHA, by-products (beaks feet feathers - preserved with chemical pesticide) and soy, and corn should never be first either...(cheap filler)
a good food would have a meat protein source up front - either Chicken Meal or Lamb meal - and Rice second.....
good foods are only sold at pet supply stores but not all foods they sell are good (eg science diet uses fillers so isnt good plus they pay for vet endorsement so the price is inflated for the quality)
a good food is more costly but because its considerably more digestable you feed less so it lasts longer - fewer poops - fewer health problems....
good in Canada - ACANA, NUTRAM
good in USA - NUTRO Natural Choice, Wellness, Innova

I couldn't say if it was THE BEST on the market, but I use IAMS. I have two cats, both rescue cats, who had different digestive problems, and I found that IAMS was the one food that they could both eat without causing any problems. It was recommended to me by my veterinary surgeon.

I've heard that Iams and Science Diet are good, but I never could get my cats to eat it. Purina puts out a lot of varieties for different stages and conditions of a cat's life.

usually nutro or any brand that doesn't have meat-by products or any kind of by-products cause that could be anything from chicken heads to road kill to dogs and cats killed in shelters. also don't get Iams they preform cruel experiments on animals (go to Iamscruelty.com to learn more) and yes anything that doesn't have by-products will cost more but its'll be healthier for your cat which means fewer vet visits
