My kids love bubble baths but i have been told that they can get a yeast infection from to many.
Why is it caused from a bubble bath, is there something in the bubbles that causes one?
Is it sitting in a bubble bath for to long or every night bubble baths that causes it?
Can someone please explain this to me.
My kids have not got one yet but what are the chances of almost everynight bubble baths.

It's because the pH of the water is raised and it is easier for bacteria to multiply. Also, many children don't get rinsed off after a bubble bath and develop a mild allergy to it which causes a yeast infection.

I do not know the exact percentage numbers. But I do know that the yeast infection applies to girls taking bubble baths. The bubbles get into their female parts (trying to say nice words : )
and sometimes you can not get them all washed out, so they stay in there and can cause an infection. Be sure to rinse them as much as possible, and try not to add to much bubble bath to the water.

Well, a yeast infection is caused when something upsets the natural balance of bacteria in the vaginal tract, specifically, making the environment less acidic and allowing the bacteria to grow in number. I'd never heard specifically of bubble baths causing one, I had heard that doucheing too much can cause one, so I suspected it was true but I looked it up anyways. The below website confirms it, and offers up lots of tips on the subject.

I think it is more likely to happen when you yourself have a yeast infection and take a bath and then the kids take a bath before the tub gets bleached really well. Just keep the tub clean and make sure your kids get really good and dry and they should be fine. Best wishes

Yes, I'm not an adult but I know a girl (she's 6) and she used to take bubble baths every day, and she got a Urinary Tract Infection, but I'm not sure if boys have to worry about it or not

this is a bigger problem for girls than boys. the combination of the really hot water and sitting in soapy water for too long upsets the delicate balance of the vaginal area. that soap gets up in there and doesn't get completely washed off. the best thing you can do is when your kids are done with the bubble bath, have them stand up and rinse really well in their nether regions in the shower to make sure they get all of the soap off. I would also stick to using mild bubbles like Mr. Bubbles b/c it's hypoallergenic.

It is true. The soap leaves a residue on the vaginal/genital areas. My son at 2yrs old loved bubble baths and came down with an irritation and I was told it was from too many bubble baths. He was going to the bathroom every 2mins or so. He had itching and I was told to give him PLOYSPORIN on the affected areas.

Yeast has a tendency to grow in warm & moist environment, try rinsing well after the bath and dry completely.
