They are trying to make a point to scientist who say we come from apes. If we "evolved" from apes then why hasn't evolution gotten rid of the apes like it has gotten rid of the cave man. But don't worry I'm sure the apes ask "why are there still humans" because someone probably said they evolved from humans.

It's just a dumb argument between science and religion and neither side has figured out yet that they are both right and neither side of the argument takes away from or disproves the other side. They just need to quit trying to prove the other is wrong, because the standing question is "if you are so right, why are you so worried when someone questions it? If it's TRUE then it will stand up to the questioning and still be true.

Ok, how about this then? If we evolved from one cell organisms then why do we still have one cell organisms? If you answer that, then why do we not have organisms made from 2,3,4,or 5 cells? I thought evolution was suppose to be a slow process that made a stop at every single stage of evolution. Why do we not have fossils from every single stage of evolution beginning with Australopithecus afarensis? We should be finding fossils of every possible type of hominid that progressively look more and more like homo sapien, but that's not the case. Why have no short neck giraffe fossils been found? When I hear people talking about maco evolution I ask myself, "are they just trying to be funny?

I don't think so but it is an odd question. It's sorta like getting married and then asking "Why are there still unmarried people?"

Because there are...?

(Then again I'm a Christian, and more people than I care to think about have called ME an ape...or at least a caveman.)

No, they actually believe that this proves man did not have a common ancestor to what we call apes. they see no resemblance. they overlook the obvious fact that ceratin of the higher apes evolved one way and certain did not. i think it is called an opposable thumb mutation. so we now have both species of primates. some with bigger brains and opposable thumbs and some with smaller brains that can swing better from trees but cannot pick up a dime.

Gosh, I hope so. This is one of the worst arguments Christians can say. Darwinists don't believe that we evolved from apes, but that humans and apes once shared a common ancestor.

This is what happens when bargain-basement theology is applied by people who've almost read the whole 1-paragraph recap of evolution - as written by Rev. Non-scientist.

It is also a major embarrassment to religious thinkers who take the time and trouble to actually study these issues. In so doing they belittle both science and God in one fell swoop.

Needless to say, they rarely address these "questions" to scientists - or theologians. But I do believe the are blissful.

We don't ask why there are still apes.

We ask why there are still atheists.

Unless apes and atheists are the same, then it is a different question.

Never heard that before. What I'd like to know is why are there still people? You'd think God would've destroyed us a long time ago the way we carry on. Obviously very patient.
