Israel wants to occupying all of Palestinian lands. Remember the previous agreements between Palestinian and Zionists. They broke all of the agreements and occupied the lands step by step.
So don't wonder of Zionists acts, they abusing the opportunities that other countries are concentrated on them like Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. to killing and running out innocent unarmed Palestinian of their forefather lands. While Zionists occupied other lands like Gaza, they wasting the time (some years) to have discussion about these lands and usually they won't withdraw of lands. They want to attach all of Palestinian lands to previous occupied lands.

They won't attack the city or the many innocent people there, they will attack the powers that be who have kidnapped their soldier. The blackout, etc. is meant to cause public discourse and turn the Palestinian people on their leadership. It is a strategy as old as time itself.

This is not just about 1 soldier, it's to send a message to Hamas leadership that they zero tolerance for a foreign nation that kidnaps their nationals. Not a reasonable country in the world will back Palestine because what they've done is grounds for war.

I hope cooler heads prevail.

Well, there's certainly not any negotiating with those people. I think that's probably why we have a longstanding policy of not negotiating with terrorists... simply because it's IMPOSSIBLE! I'm glad to see Israel stand up. I'd be even glader if they just wiped the bunch of dirt loving, envious creatures from the planet. They do nothing but cause trouble. They remind me of my ex-wife! What they need to do is wipe the planet clean of those nuts and put up a theme park so those people can have some fun for once in their lives. Geez. Enough already! Haven't they ever heard of Baseball? I guess that's ungodly too. Go Israel!

Well I think the israeli side is the one who started all this violence and they deserve what ever will happen to their man. I still can't forget the Sean that I watched in the news two weeks ago of the innocent Little Palestinian girl crying over her 7 family members killed by israeli rocket in front of her eyes for no crime than spending a happy family day on the beach of Gaza strip.

No, its much better that they allow terrorist to keep attacking them with impunity. Suicide bombers, daily Katyusha rockets, kidnappings, etc. No I think Israel should thank the Palestinians for all of this. In fact, I think Israel should encourage more of this behavior by giving the Palestinians even more money and assistance.

yes ,only by putting pressure on innocent palestinians can israel force the issue to a close.perhaps a better idea would be to start killing the hamas prisoners until the soldier is freed.unfortunenatly all the answers only bring more death.hatred rules the middle east.

Im not sure that is the main reason. I think the Israelis want to remove Hamas as the governing group in Palestine.I dont think either group ( judaism or Islam) remember that their God is a loving one.

The time for talk is over. The Palestinians need to understand the consequences of their actions.

No. I always thought it would be nice if they could work together instead of fighting like brothers. Only in a perfect world I guess.

Yes. I don't think they are going to get him back under any reasonable circumstance anyway.

The one thing they should never do it negotiate.

It will just encourage more kidnappings.
