As much as some like to swear airbags are the way to go, I don't feel a untility vehicle used for off roading needs this. I suppose if it were a primary means of transportation on major highways this would be more practical.

start by disconnecting the battery. Wait 15 min for the backup power supply to fade. Take the airbag off the steering wheel and unplug it. Now if you also want the airbag light to not be on, you can remove the bulb or I can give you a more complicated way to trick the computer into thinking its still there. Otherwise you can just bolt the airbag back onto the steeringwheel and not have it connected. It depends on how picky your inspection mechanic is. Technically your airbag light has to light and then go out when you start the vehicle to pass inspection. Email audicoupefreak@yahoo.com for more details

Since there is no benefit in removing an airbag, why not drive it into a tree going about 60 mph. Then don't replace it.

Open your glove box and look at the fuse box. It is clearly marked for the 2 fuses for the air bags. Just pull them both and they are disabled. I did the same thing to mine because I didn't want them going off while I was 4 wheeling. Hope I have been helpful.
