since you are "forgetting religion" .........when you accept Jesus as your savior, you do not have a religion. You have a relationship with God, and an intercessor, high priest, companion, and loving brother in the person of Jesus. Religion is man's way to get to God. Jesus is the way to the Father, and the path is forgiveness and mercy. It does not matter then what religious label you would carry. What matters is what is in your heart.

All through the Bible God always have a people that had a common belief system and it is also predicted to continue down to the end of the world. God had his sons and daughters in Genesis, He had the Israelites, which then became the Jews and then the message went to the gentiles and everyone after his death on the cross and then they became Christians. Unfortunately, many so called christians now are following the beliefs of men and traditions of men but they are false. So seek one that speaks only from the Bible - the word of God.

If a person accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior, then they embrace the Christian religion.

Well, lets step away from denominations, but if you believe Jesus as your saviour (if I'm not mistaken) is a tenet only of Christianity, so that would make you Christian.

you are simply a christian following jesus and trying to live the way you should. lets say we have a wagon wheel the center being jesus and all the small wood parts lead to the middle, one is baptist one is catholic,one is mormon, but they are all leading to the middle so we are heading in the same direction if it leads you to him all is good.

If you accept Jesus you are labeled Christian meaning that you belong to Christ.
