Does he really know that you are going to do?

God grants humans free will, so He would allow you the liberty of choice without knowing or influencing how you move. However, I think God is pretty good at chess...I hear He took Kasparov in straight games, once in only 6 moves!

Nice question on a light tone, but if you really think religion works this way, you have not gotten good information.

I am not sure that you can engage God in trivial matters. You would have to be pretty good to even set up the board so chances are if God played chess you are not in the same league.

When has God ever played fair, is what I'm thinking Jim. Still, I like a challenge myself; so go for the game. You never know, maybe there will be some distraction that temporarily occupies the One. Good luck with it!

If you find yourself in heaven, there will be no chess. Do adults use the pacifiers they had as infants? When we move on to a higher existance, we leave behind such childish things.

oh haha, that reminds me of joke, ready?
Three men are playing golf: Moses, Jesus and some other guy.
Moses goes first, after he hits the ball it soars through the air and lands, right in the pond. He rolls his eyes in slight aggravation, but walks up to the pond, points his golf club out over the water. The water parts and he goes over to play his ball out of the pond.
Jesus goes next, his ball lands in the same pond. Jesus though walks on the water and after finding his ball reaches down picks it up, sets it on top of the water and play it through.
Now it's the last guys turn. He steps up to ball takes a good hard swing and just as it's coming down right into the water, a frog jumps up and grabs it in it's mouth, then as it's sitting on a lily pad, a eagle swoops in and grabs the frog, as the eagle is getting higher and higher, the frog drops the ball right onto the green and the ball rolls, slowly right into the cup for a hole in one.

Moses turns to Jesus and says," I hate playing golf with your father."

ahhhaaaahahah, come on, I at least got a smile for that one.

I don't know. Even if he knows there should be a way to beat him. But doesn't the book of revalations predict that God will win? He'll probably just start smiting your pawns.
