When will people realise that religion is not something that should be fought over. If everybody adopted an "each to his own" attitude wouldn't the world be a slightly better place?

What do you think??

I agree with you and think that people should be content with the fact that others have free will and can follow whatever religion they want, they should accept it and leave it at that...trying to convert people would create more conflict!

And so you would also think that if someone looked like they were drowning, you would just turn away and adopt an "each to his own" attitude right?

We are commanded by God to go out to the world and proclaim the gospel (which means good news). Matt 28:18-20 are our instructions.

I personally would want to help the drowning man, and I want to help those who don't know the good news. I don't do it as much as I should, but I try and am growing.

I also think that without christianity in this world, this world would be in some very bad troubles right now.

I'm not convinced people fight over religion. Most of the bloodshed of the 20th century is linked to race and not religion.See channel 4s The War of the World. I think the gripes of the people of the middle east with the west is not about religion really. The west would have crapped all over them even if they were Christians. Religious fanaticism is just a channel for venting anger and frustrations

The world cannot be a better place if we do not follow God and the His word - The Bible. If each person comes with his thing or interpretation it is not truth, there is only one truth when it comes to God and no matter what we think we all can't be right. And we cannot make ourselves be happy with God and following his truth. So we can't say that if everybody just accept everybody it will make it all right! We can't fix ourselves - that is why Jesus had to die to redeem us - John 3:16. We only have true peace and hope when we follow Jesus and His true teachings in the Bible.

Most people have adopted this attitude and the world isn't a better place. There can only be one truth. That's got to be true!

Probably never as long as religions like Christianity and Moslem continue as they do now. God WANTS people to try to convert other people to a religon that worships him in some form. This is so he can have more power and influence. He doesn't care if people fight over which way to worship him, as long as they worship HIM. There are at least two Commandments concerning not worshipping other Gods, and in the Bible he gets very incensed when people worship other gods. He probably gets off on people fighting over how to worship him, it fits from what I've put together of his personality.

I hear you sister, I think you are absolutely right....Im a Christian, but I still have friends who are muslims and even pagans, they have rights just like me. No one is better than another...

People who use religion as an excuse do not practice that religion right, all religions Im sure tell us not to hate, fight or kill....these people are a disgrace to the human race and democracy.

Personally I stongly believe in my religion but I am very much against forcing it on anyone else- if they don't believe what I do then fine!
Having a believe isn't a dangerous thing so I agree with you people should be allowed to do believe whatever they want without being persceuted!

Your question implies that you would like others to adopt your mindset-so much for "each to his own" ;-)

People screw up all kinds of otherwise good institutions, government, marriage, whatever. I think the problem is with us as humans. Any solution that relies on people is vulnerable to failure.

Perhaps the world would be better if we all sought to know God, tried to please Him with our choices and treated each other with love and respect - in spite of what "religious people" might say.

Love and respect to all-

Fighting is over greed and power, not religion. Religion is merely used as an excuse.

Jesus was indeed born of a virgin.

Your 'to each his own' theory will land you in the Lake of Fire for all eternity. And, hell is not the Lake of Fire, for both death and hell are both cast into the Lake of Fire.
