It not only can but DOES damage the brain unfortunately.
The scientific tests state that, long term marijuana usage damages the same specific part of the brain which is the problematic part in schitzofreniacs which may mean you can have the symptoms of a schizofreniac in the future after long term usage of marijuana.

No it can not! mental illnesses are reserved for those people with working brain cells. Since the use of cannabis kills brain cells and those who use cannabis were deficient in brain cells to start with, it is doubtful that you would have enough working brain cells to develop a mental illness. You just don't have a brain. Maybe your ID should be "The Scarecrow".

long term cannabis abuse doesn't "cause" mental illness persey. but it does inhibit the symptoms of it so when your not smoking pot you will get your feelings back and up comes whatever mental illness u have. pot has an effect like any other drug. There have been people who i have known that have alot of mental disorders and they cant afford meds so smoking it helps them.

Abusing anything should aggravate mental illness. It is only by living a real life that we remain (somewhat) sane.

Abram Maslow studied successful people in the 1930's and they told hime about their peak experiences.

These are worth being ready for.

Also, I am waiting for the right woman to find me, but that is another, not necessarily unrelated, story.

Hi hun, i'm actually a drug counsellor.... but not that busy as you can see!!!

There is know medical evidence, but through working with people that smoke skunk and attending mental health units, i do believe smoking too much skunk does have an effect on the mental state of some people... This is my personal opinion!!!

Try smoking just regular commercial weed or try putting less skunk in your joints and reduce the amount of joints...

ps i'm assuming your smoking skunk weed

trust me im living proof iv been doing it everyday for bout 5 years now & my memory is terrible, iv got bad depression which was triggered by the smoke, im really paranoid, hardly want to go out coz u get so lazy & down on life wen u constantly take it...saying that though, some people could smoke it all their lives & not get any side affects at all so i think it just depends on the person but in my experience YES it does affect u mentally.

I don't think so... I think it is Gods gift to the world. I think if you already have mental illness then it might make it worse. I would rather see someone smoke a joint than drink. when you drink too much you loose control. when you smoke too much you overeat lol. no seriously tho I think if someone has mental issues they should Only take prescribed medicine.

well it's never been proved, and I'm as mental as a hatter but it has nothing to do with my smoking habits. i don't believe it's linked there are a lot of crazy people in the world and i believe alcohol can cause just as much damage to the brain if not more
