As a Welshman, I'd just like to say that using the Welsh language in public is like a big neon sign above your head saying "I'm pathetic, mock me!"
It never used to be taken even remotely seriously, and was the province of North Welsh villages that still hadn't heard that the world was round, and a couple of trendy media types in Cardiff. Now there's been a vast amount of money spent turning what was and still should be a heritage language into a national language. Go to Cardiff Central station now and you could miss your train, cos they announce everything in Welsh first, and by the time you're done listening to "Y tren nesa yn y platfform pump i Ferthyr Tudful, ar Trefforest, Abercynon De a Mynwent y Crynwyr..." you realise you've just missed the bloody thing! The reason there are so many English words in Welsh is because the language practically died long ago and no-one, even now, can take it seriously enough to translate the words into Welsh.

Its the same in many languages, we have bungalow from Indian, The French have le weekend from English. All languages are evolving, and often it's words from another language that become absorbed, particularly if the language doesn't have word for anything like the word that is being used. I suspect that McDonalds is a word in use in most countries of the world.

Actually there are Welsh words for most things it's just then when you speak English words come into your head or are just simpler. If I spoke Welsh properly no one would understand me! Some words are just so complicated! So I speak Wenglish - a mixture of both, as do most people who go to my school.... It varies I think, people in South Wales are more Welshy.....
