Actually I have read that 75-80% of the world has HPV and only about 20some% know about it. So A LOT of people have it - knowingly or not. It's really not as uncommon as most people think.
HPV is one of the STDs that there is no cure for. So once you have it you will always have it. And, it can be deadly for women, because women can get cervical cancer from it. 300,000 women die every year from cervical cancer.
I was really nervous when I told my boyfriend at the time (now fiance) that I had two incurable STDs - HPV and genital herpes. Most people are pretty understanding about it. I have never had a bad reaction from someone when I told them I had the viruses. Of course they wanted to know everything they could know about it. It's a good idea to learn as much about the virus as you can, that way when they ask you questions about it, you will have a good answer. Also, provide them to some good links to websites, that way they can check in out in their spare time and read about it. Don't worry! A lot of people have STDs and have found true love and made a family together. It is not impossible! Good luck to you!

There is a new vaccine, Gardasil approved on 8th JUN 2006, that prevents HPV6,HPV11 which combined causes 90% of genital warts cases and HPV16,HPV18 which combined causes 70% of cervical cancer cases. If I am going to marry and I have HPV, I'll let my girl to get vaccinated however she should be between 12 & 26 year old

That is a chance you have to take, but you can be armed with statistics on it when you broach the subject. Research it, learn all you can about it, and be prepared for questions. You will be amazed at the statistics for it. Most people don't know they have it. Millions walk around with it and have no clue. It is the number one diagnosed disease currently.

You should be very careful with this because it causes cervical cancer and a future relationship with someone you love should already know ahead a time. Please use protection with anyone youre with just incase. I also have HPV and I was shocked to know because I had no side affects, no symptoms! My chances of having cervical cancer are very high. Its very depressing!!

you could always try online dating sites where all the people have those kinds of diseases. i dont think anyone would want to have sex with someone who has it , unless they really love you. i would tell them from the start dont lie it makes it worse
