Unbelivers only please. Before the Gospel can be the good news it must be bad news. So why reject the Gospel?

Many of you have questioned my motives. Let me put it like this if I may. You will have to trust me a little though. If I do believe & know whole-heartedly that if you step out of this world without Jesus, then you will be damned. If I am to call myself a Christian & truly believe that, wouldn't I be the worse kind of human if I did not warn others.Or if there was a fire sweeping toward there houses & they needed to evacuate & I said well "Praise God I got my family out while my neighbor & his family burnt in their sleep" That would be horrible. But since I not only believe this but it has been revealed to me as unfallible truth I must warn others. Do you see belief can be wrong, If I jump off the Sears Tower screaming I dont believe in gravity will it matter? Of course not my belief doesn't matter, the question is is it true.

I was raised with the freedom to choose, and taught to make an informed decision when deciding on my religion. I dont believe because the more i looked at different religions the less sense it made. There is no proof that God exists, I mean real proof not just quotes from the bible, and religion breeds hate.

What, really, is the point in putting so much faith into words on paper? Anyone can do that. What if someone suddenly decided that Stephen King books were the new gospel? Would you believe that? What if Stephen King claimed it as truth? Would you believe it then?

Anyway, I think my point here is that I "reject the Gospel," so to speak, because there is absolutely nothing to verify or validate what's in it other than someone's word that it's "truth". After all, it was written by man and man is fallible. Just because you believe it came from God doesn't mean that man didn't just all sorts of mess it up when he (or they) wrote it. Have you ever taken dictation? Do you know how hard it is to get every word someone says without them having to repeat what they've said a few times?

It's just words written by man for man, so that man would have something to believe other than a simple 'I don't know' which a lot of people have trouble admitting. That's what science is there for, at that point. Why do YOU reject scientific theory and explanation? Science is a lot more than words on a page, it's more than hypothetical explanation, it's people putting theoretical information to practical use. So what's your problem with that?

There is no reason to believe. It's really that simple. Do you believe a giant turtle puked up the universe? Why not? It is written. Do you believe in Santa Claus? Why not? It is also written.

I no more reject "the Gospel" than I reject Santa Claus and the giant turtle.

Do you really believe everything you read?

The bottom line is, I don't care what you choose to believe. That's no ones' business but your own. By the same token, you should respect other beliefs. Faith is personal

Have you ever sat down and actually READ the Old Testament? I have... you would not believe some of the sexist crap that is in there. I don't want to believe in any god that would say the stuff that is in there.
And as far a Jesus is concerned, he could just as easily be a false prophet as he could be the real prophet. In the bible it tells us not to worship false idols or fall for fake prophet. So I'm waiting for some real proof. Not some book written by flesh and blood humans, but some real proof from God. It's not that I DON'T believe, I just have not been fully convinced.

I think the question is actually, why do you care why we don't believe? Are you looking for a way out of your religion and faith? Because if you are, just look at the religion and you will find your way out.

Anyways, why I don't believe? Because I find it absurd and none of it makes sense. It only breeds hatred and bigotry among people and I won't be a part of that.

I have no problem with what other people beleive and have faith in, its none of my business, but for some reason other people think my lack of faith is their business. I just don't get it.

I don't reject everything in the bible...some of it is very good advice. but overall it just makes no sense. I don't want to believe anything on faith alone. there shoud be some empirical evidence. and the evidence suggests thst the bible is acompilation of mythes and stories of a religion that evolved over several thousand years. but many of Jesus" ideas regarding social justice are brilliant...but that doesn't make them divine

Unbeliever of what?
Not believe what?
The Gospel (presuming you mean the Bible) is a story book filled with all kinds of fiction just like any book in the local library.

I don't reject the Gospel. Good words are spoken in them, especially the ones that preach brotherhood and love for all people.

I DO reject evangelicals who shove their holier-than-thou attitudes down the throats of people who want nothing to do with them.

I don't believe in god because there's no reason to. You may as well ask me why I don't believe in pixies or goblins or anything else you make up in your head. It's the same reason I don't believe that government satellites are stealing secrets out of the brain of the homeless guy in front of my building. Why should I?

You aren't making a convincing argument.

Why don't you believe in Santa Claus?

Before Santa there were no presents delilvered through the chimney?

So why reject Santa Claus?
