I've just come back from a hen weekend, we went to a lovely retreat near Burton on Trent, we all had a full body massage, we went to some pubs and a club, the 'hen' wore her wedding dress from her previous marriage, which was modified to fit the occasion, we all wore tiaras to make it obvious we were together. :)

Good luck to your Mum. :)

Hen party ideas eh.......

Well, where I live in South Yorkshire there are some drag clubs, where you have a 5 course meal and then a drag act comes on, I've been 3 times now and the ages range from teens to 70's, and they all have a blast. see if there are any where you live, you'll not regret it.

I don't know if there is something like this in your area, but there are companies that have home sales for lingerie. Nothing trashy, just really pretty and sexy. People buy what they want, then the bride to be gets the credits for what she wants. Or have someone come in that does make up and facials. This would be fun for everyone, too.

Serve up some make your own paninnis and a good punch, w/ fresh veggies and dips. Serve a decedent cheesecake for dessert.

How about a pampering afternoon in a posh hotel room followed by the obligatory tour of pubs with the potty for the bride's drinks?

it really depends on what sort of things your group might enjoy (do they like to dance, party, etc??)......and your budget.....try to make use of the summer season....go to a beach or water park.....have a tiara for your mom & flower headresses for your guests (this will make your mom "stand out" and your guests can choose from an attention-catching flower to just a summer-accessory bud)....& you can have little games...like pick a question from a fishbowl (the questions can be ideas for the wedding, funny experiences on wedding, wedding disasters, love & marriage...etc)..have a tan & enjoy the occassion....good luck to your mom!
