You should go. Don't know about bringing an extra person, he/she will limit you when it comes to meeting ohters. As you said the 2 of you might be left out. But if the rest fo the people all know each other, the other 2 persons you know will introduce you to everyone else; it will make it easier for you to start up conversations. And if you get bore of someone, just go onto the next person you just meet. I think you'll do fine so go to the BBQ!!

Go! It's OK if you don't know most of the people there; it's a great opportunity to meet people and make some new friends! If you want to invite a friend, just check to be certain it's OK with the person who invited you. Have fun!

If you feel comfortable, you should go. This could be the best opportunity to meet new people and have a good time.

I have found that if you don't take people up on thier invitations you will not get invited in the future.

When you go, start conversations with new people who you don't know. Mingle. If you sit in the corner and wait for people to talk to you, you will probably get bored and not have a good time.

Go, and have fun!

Yes, why not. It is a chance for you to mix and mingle and meet new people. Remember, that you were invited!

Just because everyone will know each other, don't feel left out, because you wont be. Who cares what people think, do what you wanna do. It sounds like you really want to go, and you should. Go have fun and be yourself. Have fun!

You refuse to play "poor little Miss left-out" and mingle with the other guests. Make it a goal to spend at least a few minutes getting to know each and every person at that party. This is good chance to impress your new guy and his circle with how confident, poised, and socially graceful you are.

Of course you should go. After all you were invited. It is a very good opportunity to meet and make new friends. Go and enjoy yourself and have a great time. Good luck.

go, but dont bring a friend. if you do, he/she will be the only one you talk to. then you will probably get pegged as stuck up or snobby.

have your guy friend introduce you to a few people and ask him to stick with you for a little bit (not stick by you the whole night) until you feel comfortable talking with others.

good way to meet new friends

Take the opportunity to make more friends. Start talking to some of the girls, or have your friend introduce you to some of the people. Have him introduce you to the people he knows have somewhat the same interests as you. Have fun!

Go. If you were invited, you are wanted there. Don't fall into that silly 'clique' thing. Just be fun and outgoing (not obnoxious) and meet some new people. Have fun!!!

Go meet new people, take something to contribute, like some cookies or fruit salad or chips and salsa, this will break the ice and make you look gracious.
