I believe there are many Gods---and many more that we don't even know about. Even in the Christian ten commandments doesn't it say something like "put no other gods before me"? That statement seems to imply a belief of many different deities.

First we need to determine which God we are talking about here. Are you referring to the real God, the unconditionally loving God who we are all a part of? This is the one Jesus was talking about when he said the kingdom of God is within you. The one who is our dearest friend and closest companion.
Or are we talking about the angry little judgmental God that lives on some far off cloud called heaven. The one who seems to be more concerned with our errors than he is with our successes? You know the egocentric needy little God that always wants people to worship him. The one who is always unavailable because he is only a fantasy? You need to specify if you want a real answer

Yes, there is only one God, and only one truth. Man has convoluted God's truth and presented alternatives, but the Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit are the living and true God.
Read the Gospel of John. the Book of Romans or "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren.
Ask God to reveal Himself to you, have an open heart and He will.

Yes there is only 1 God. His divided parts are:
Father God-always has been and always will be
Jesus Christ-God's son who was sent 2 save us from hell and preach the word
Holy Spirit-the goodness in ppl
Not all Christians live in some seperate world. That's not what God wants. I live in the world. Jesus loves you:)

I couldn't begin to tell you all the names of God that people call upon but there is only ONE God. People perceive Him differently and worship Him differently but He is still the One True God.

There is no God, of any name or face. The Gods are all dusty old ghosts who don't have any bearing on the natural world. Your life will be much easier to understand if you relinquish yourself of belief in fairy tales and magic.

he has as many forms as as needed. have you ever been stranded by a flat tire or any car problem, and after an hour someone stops and helps you but he/she never stops smiling, it may be the best dressed person or the dirtiest grungiest person in the world, but i have always thought that god is in that person.

GOD is one and only one having all the goodness and qualities. we can give HIM any name by virtue of some quality. HE is formless Supreme soul, point of divine light generally called Shiva,Allah,God,etc in diffrent religions.Because He has unlimited qualities so His names can be.

i believe there were many gods in the bible. [it's what i believe]. Elohim is a name for god...it is plural. let us make man in our image, in our likeness......genesis. the creator seems to be the head of it all. maybe that is what the holy spirit is. there are many names for god and i am sure they had different faces.

as many faces as the number of people that believe in things like that. It's like asking; how many different views of reality are there?
