my dad was diagnosed with diabetes too and we would often buy him those disposable bags where you can pee in (they have stuff inside that will help neutralize the odor).

as for peeing frequently -- have yourself checked, you could be suffering from renal (kidney) failure

If you are a diabetic then you already know good control of your blood sugars are a must. You will not only stop the every 5 minute trip to the toilet but slow the blindness, heart failure and kidney dialysis from happening so soon.
Believe me you don't want this to happen to you, get under control now so you can enjoy your life.
I will be spending the 4th of July night hooked up to a machine for 4 hours at the dialysis clinic. listening to my books on tape because I am blind, wondering if my heart & chest will start hurting so bad that I will have to have the EMT's drive me to the hospital again!.

The only thing I would recommend is if you are diagnosed as Diabetic, good glucose control will reduce the number of trips to the toilet. The reason why Diabetics need to go to the toilet so frequently when they are not diagnosed or controlled effectively is because this is your body's way of getting rid of excessive glucose and other chemicals that it can no longer metabolize effectively.

Well I had that problem but I didn't realize that it was diabetes till I went to get a glutose test done. I went to my doctor and he told me for two weeks stay away from sugar ( anything that contains sugar like soda, candies etc.) and also carbs ( which turns into sugar. Or try to reduce the carbs) He told me for two weeks to drink water only and watch what I eat. I don't get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom to urinate. I was always thirsty and that went away too. I was also give by my doctor a little machine at indicate how my sugar is mind you it's good. But bottom line you need to go to your doctor asap. Take care of it now cause I'm sure you don't want to loose a limb. Good luck

As has already been mentioned, you should have your blood sugar checked including the glycosylated hemoglobin to see what the average sugar level has been in the last few months. If your sugar level is high, then that is the thing to focus on.
There are other factors including prostate health (if you are male) that need to be looked at as well. Your best move is to ask this question of a doctor and work with him to get this solved.

hungry all the time? peeing all the time? thirsty all the time? if yes, go to the doctor because chances are you are suffering from diabetes mellitus especially if it runs in the family. if you are slim it may be type 1 which is the insulin dependent. go to the doctor and have a blood test and then take it from there...best of luck!

Why do other answerers have to be so silly?! A surprising number of people have incontience at one stage of their lives or another so they might be asking the same question one day!

The two web-sites here should provide some help, but don't be embarrassed to ask your doctor or to be referred to a Urologist - they treat the same symptoms day in day out and see it as the most matter-of-fact thing - it's sensible to get some help rather than suffer in silence.

Best wishes.

Get yourself a blood glucose meter. Abbott Freestyle Mini is a good one. Sounds like your blood glucose is too high. The meter will tell you whats going on. Then speak to your diabetic specialist.
