You can do many things to improve your memory, good sleep being number one on the list but if there is something that is causing the problem of retaining good memory and if it is overlooked , the problem will keep coming back. As a matter of fact your memory can worsten from the stress of trying to improve, with no results by not being aware of the real cause. It can be stresses, worries, drugs, alcohol, divorce even problems on the job. So my best advice is to also see if anything outside of your body is a current factor in this, then you can work on memory improvement with ease and free yourself from some stressors that can prevent good results from even from the best of books. In other words your physiological state must be good first for you to take on a task such as memory enhancement, you might even find out that memory is not a target problem but just the result of another.

What I know is , that our brain is a muscle and like any other needs to exercise.Simple little games should help you with this and some omega-3 vitamin should assist your brain with memory also.THere is something else that plays big rule in your memory. It is called REM.(rapid EYE movement). It is when the person sleeps for over 3 or more straight ours (without interruption) your brain is working towards storing and prov=cessing all the info that you got during the day.
Before I had kids I had sharp memory. Not ever the need to take notes for anything, even phone numers were all in my brain. After I had kids, And couldn't sleep more than 3 ours straight ,I can't remeber anything.I hope you find this useful.

There is a pretty good book by the title Improving your Memory written by Laird Cermak. I read it more than 15 years ago... and I think I remember the name and title, I double check it for you.

Its amazingly good stuff, I remembered his name and book title!!!!! Mnay great systems to improve your memory and it was easy to read, not scientific at all. You'll love it.

I do not know of any specific book, try your local library or the on line book stores. There are however vitamins out there that claim to stimulate sensors in your brain which help to retain memory.
You best bet, is to not let the mind be idle. Read anything!!

Tony Robbins Mega Memory will enhance your working memory. Try writing a diary or retelling stories of your past to improve your episodic memory.
